UPDATE: The NYPD has safely removed the suspicious device from the area for further testing, and those who were evacuated are now allowed to return to their residences.
The area remains closed to vehicular traffic.

In connection with the ongoing investigation into the improvised explosive device deployed yesterday, the NYPD has identified a suspicious device in a vehicle on East End Avenue between 81st Street and 82nd Street. NYPD officers have frozen the area around the vehicle and are conducting limited evacuations of buildings in the vicinity while the Bomb Squad assesses and removes the device.

Unpopular opinion but I’m not keen on renaming noted races - Sword Dancer - that are 50 yrs old. I deeply respect the late trainer NYRA is honoring but why not rename the graded Saratoga Oaks? Frankly that’s a meaningless name today.

This is concerning:
Non-farm payroll employment in Q2 2024 actually declined by -0.1% instead of growing +1.1% as initially reported by the BLS.
In other words, the 442,000 jobs added in Q2 will likely be revised NEGATIVE in February 2025, according to Philadelphia Fed analysis.
Fed estimates revealed that employment was lower in 25 states, higher in 2 states, and remained the same in 23 states.
This should result in another large downward revision as seen in August when the jobs number was revised lower by -818,000.
After "strong" labor market data beats expectations, they are revised massively lower several months later.
What is happening here?
