There’s something I want to say, not emotionally, not defensively, but just clearly. Every few weeks, almost on a schedule now, there’s a fresh wave of noise around ION. Same tone, same people, same certainty: “It’s over.” “It’s fake.” “This won’t come.” “That won’t happen.” And honestly, if you’ve been around for more than a few months, you’ve already seen this movie multiple times. Let me remind you how this has actually played out. For months, people were loudly saying staking would never come. That it was bait, that it was a lie, that it was just a promise to keep people quiet. Week after week of threads, spaces, screenshots, so called “exposés”. Then staking… came. Then there was the Online+ doesn’t exist phase. People saying the UI screenshots were mockups. That the app wasn’t real. That there was no product behind it. That nothing was being built. Meanwhile, those of us who were actually paying attention weren’t watching Twitter, we were watching GitHub. And this part matters. Before Online+ launched, GitHub was literally the only honest signal I had that work was happening. You could see commits. You could see repositories being updated. You could see features slowly taking shape, week after week. No marketing. No hype. Just boring engineering activity. And then one day… what we had been seeing on GitHub for months showed up as a real product in the world. Online+ launched. That pattern is important. Because right now, we’re in the same phase again. The phase where externally it feels slow, messy, unclear, frustrating, but internally, development is active, visible, and ongoing if you actually look where builders look. GitHub activity isn’t “proof of success”, but it is proof of work. It means people are sitting down every day and writing code. Shipping commits. Fixing things. Iterating. That’s not what dead projects look like. That’s what building looks like. So when I see the same people, again and again, declaring that “nothing is happening”, “it’s all stalling”, “it’s a scam because so and so isn’t live yet”, I just feel like we’re stuck in a loop where some people never update their model of reality. They don’t observe, update and refine. They just react, then shout, and then move to the next shout. And the thing is, I’m not saying ION is perfect. It’s not. Timelines slip. UX isn’t always great. Communication can be better. That’s all fair. That’s normal for complex systems being built in public. But there’s a difference between: “I see risks / delays / issues and I want to understand them” and “Nothing is real unless I personally see the final polished version right now.” One is analysis. The other is just impatience dressed up as insight. ION has already gone through multiple cycles of “this will never happen” to “oh, it happened.” Staking. Mainnet. Validators. Online+. Not because people shouted, but because people quietly built. So if you’re feeling uneasy right now, that’s fine. If you want clarity, that’s healthy. If you want better communication, that’s valid. But if your entire worldview is shaped by the loudest voices on X every two weeks, you’re going to keep feeling whiplash. The calmer, more boring truth is: building takes time, and progress often looks invisible until it suddenly isn’t. That’s how it was with Online+. That’s how it usually is with everything real.
