@MikeMcL00531595 The U.S. complaint isn’t that it routinely pays Canada’s 200%+ dairy tariff. It’s that Canada restricts access through quotas, limiting how much U.S. dairy can enter before that tariff applies, while EU dairy gets better access. The U.S. says this limits sales.

The dairy tariff is only applied AFTER imports exceed a quota. Apparently never been charged. Meanwhile USA exported C$1.6B dairy into Canada in 2025. And to retaliate, Trump applied the 50% Aug. 19 to 🇨🇦 dairy.

On  June 15, 2012 I stood with Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to announce our agreement to build a new international crossing between Windsor and Detroit. In May 2015, the Governor and I together announced the bridge would be named in honour of Gordie Howe, a great Canadian hockey hero who led the Detroit Red Wings to four Stanley Cups and inspired a generation of young Canadians and Americans.  Today, despite challenges and delays, I am proud to see the Gordie Howe International Bridge officially opened. May it long continue Gordie Howe’s legacy of connecting our two great countries, fuelling growth and opportunity for decades to come.

My first and only post. What Trump is doing is against Article 1 and 2 of the UN Charter. His threats of annexation and creating chaos instead of peace and not following binding trade agreements THAT HE HIMSELF made and agreed upon a few years earlier ARE ILLEGAL.
