I challenged this Ayurveda practitioner to come for a debate on Youtube. A simple YES or NO. He has written an essay featuring a bunch of word salads, but refuse to answer. Can anyone here make @AyurvedaMonk understand what is been asked for? He is again asking me to visit the OP and IP of Ayurveda institutes for evidence. That's not how scientific debates work. We can discuss evidence and medicine on YouTube Live. That's how good debates work out and there will be a moderator and the public who will watch it and learn from it. Hello @AyurvedaMonk One last time. Are you willing to accept my invitation for a debate on Ayurveda and Medical Science regarding practices, treatments and patient cases? We can discuss and share our peer-reviewed publications on the same. Yes or No? Simple. Don't write essays like a first year student. Will you be a man or a herb?
Ayurveda Monk, The Dr. 🩺🧘‍♂️🍀@AyurvedaMonk

It took me a little time to respond to you @theliverdoc as I wanted to turn my seemingly impractical challenge for you into a practical reality! First see this: If someone claims that paracetamol doesn’t reduce fever, a sensible allopathic Dr. would simply say - “Let’s test it on a few patients and see whether it works or not.” But imagine if the accuser says, “No, no! Forget the patients - let’s have a #YouTube debate, and I’ll prove there that paracetamol doesn’t work! And if you refuse to debate me, that means paracetamol is useless!” Sounds childish, right? 😂 Abby, that’s exactly what you’re doing. You made two outrageous allegations: 👇 1⃣ No disease can be cured with Ayurvedic medicines! 2⃣ #Ayurveda medicines destroy the liver so badly in just a week that a liver transplant becomes necessary! I challenged you - let’s test your allegations on real patients, under the supervision of a neutral medical college and an unbiased team. But you backed off, because deep down you know you’re deceiving the public - trying to mislead people with fake narratives. You want a YouTube debate so you can twist words and create confusion in the minds of ordinary people about Ayurved (your actual aim😅). But such a debate is meaningless - we both know what we’ll say, and you’ve already decided not to believe the truth. So why not let OUTCOME / results speak instead of empty words? Let the outcomes of real Ayurveda treatment decide - and let the people judge for themselves! Your problem & its solution: @theliverdoc, you said you can’t accept my challenge because of issues like consent, ethics clearance, and research protocols, right? Well, here’s your solution! @ItraJamnagar - a premier "Institute of Ayurveda of NATIONAL IMPORTANCE" - treats thousands of patients daily in its OPD and IPD. It’s one of the most credible platforms in the country (itra.ac.in) At ITRA, you’ll face no hurdles regarding consent, ethics, or protocols etc. You and your entire team are welcome to go and conduct your trials there. If you wish, I can even connect you directly with the institute’s authorities myself! Think about it Abby - you’ll never get a better opportunity to “save people from Ayurveda” than this. If you can prove even one of your two allegations at one of India’s top Ayurvedic institutes, your mission will be accomplished forever! And don’t worry - if you fail to prove your accusations (99.99% chances are there😆), they won’t take away your medical degree! My challenge - and the answer to all your childish arguments (like different medical department, different medical college, different state etc. etc.🤣) - is right here in my quoted tweet - stop misleading your followers & Read it again👇 Waiting for your reply @AyurvedaMonk 👍 @mpprataprao @moayush @secymoayush @vaidyakotecha #MedTwitter #MedX

"It is better to light a candle, than curse the darkness." skeptic.org.uk/2025/10/dr-cyr… I am the first Asian, the first Indian to receive this prestigious award given to science communicators who fight misinformation and pseudoscience. "Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, a doctor and expert on the harms caused by alternative medicine in India, has today been named the 2025 recipient of the Ockham Award for Skeptical Activism by The Skeptic magazine. Dr Philips, a clinician-scientist in Hepatology at Rajagiri Hospital, Kochi, Kerala, has spent over a decade highlighting the dangers of homeopathy, herbal remedies, and superstition in India, sharing his expertise with more than 430,000 followers across X, Instagram and YouTube. His work in countering health misinformation has been featured across the national and international media – resulting in campaigns of harassment and litigation by supporters of India’s powerful herbal and homeopathic industries." To everyone who supported me, who stood by me, who raised my voice...my big thanks and appreciation. Science communication cannot progress without science loving rationalists like you all. Thank you to the @TheSkepticMag and the @merseyskeptics, to the editor in chief @MrMMarsh and the @QEDcon awards and scientific committee of the Okhams for choosing me, giving me stage and helping me raise my voice on the unstoppable work I do against the unrelentless pseudoscientific drivel that people of my country are been subjected to... with regulatory support. Only the medical community can fight back for the public and patients... and this prestigious award and recognition gives the few medical science communicators in India, like me, more fuel to burn ourselves for the better. This is an award for all rationalists and scientific communicators in India and I'm proud to make this ours, not mine alone. Jai Hind. PS: deeply grateful for the few minutes of thunderous standing ovation at the end of my presentation from the massive crowd who gathered on a rainy day in Manchester to fill the main stage event. It was unlike anything I had experienced. I'll never forget it.🙏
