@Cryptofly777 Wow. I think your content and presence is slowly rising to the top of our ecosystem. In a sea of memes and casual, streamer-like delivery, you speak with poise, and the whole package looks quite professional. Now you just need a built audience, that'll take time. Great job.

@adamKDean @PlutusPool @yojoflo @sachs_johnny @matiwinnetou Thanks. Just pointing out the word 'efficient' does incorporate cost across different vernaculars. As you denote with opportunity 'cost', time and price are often linked in valuation. All said, your points are convincing as I was at first a skeptic but I'm coming around.

Time is the most operative variable here. It would probably take close to another year just to "fill in the gaps" with contracts and then the new contractors would likely need 6-12 months of "coming up to speed" and there's an unknown "can anyone else deliver Leios" factor. So, to my mind, it's really opportunity cost that must be considered

Having worked as a professional financial auditor and risk expert for banks and insurance companies for many years, one of the key elements I always assess is operational concentration risk. Critical systems should never rely on a single entity or a small group without clear mitigation measures: redundancy, documentation, knowledge transfer, transparency, and independent oversight are standard practice. Regarding the current proposal from IO to maintain the Cardano blockchain for 62M ADA covering “continuous core maintenance and operational support from Q3 2026 through Q1 2027,” I believe the community should seriously reflect on a few important governance and decentralization questions. My questions are straightforward: 1) Why is IO seemingly the only entity capable of performing these maintenance tasks? 2) Are these maintenance responsibilities formally identified and transparently documented? 3) Why can’t the Intersect Technical Committee independently assess, validate, or communicate on these "maintenance" matters? And ultimately: 4) If the blockchain’s critical maintenance depends primarily on IO and a limited group of developers, does this not represent a significant concentration risk for Cardano’s decentralization model? As decentralization has always been presented as one of Cardano’s core value propositions and key differentiators, this latest proposal naturally raises broader questions around the resilience of our technological architecture, the sustainability of its maintenance model, and the ecosystem’s overall operational risk management. Curious to hear views from the broader Cardano technical community on these four questions? (Please tag your Cardano expert below).

@adamKDean @PlutusPool @yojoflo @sachs_johnny @matiwinnetou Adam, can you define "most efficient" if cost is not the operative variable? And even if not, how can one not include it? Reduction ad absurdum, what if Leios was priced at the remainder of our treasury to complete. Would this definition of "most efficient" stand up to scrutiny.

1. IOG is not the only vendor capable of performing maintenance tasks, they are simply the largest and most established with the most "tribal knowledge" of the codebase and trust within the ecosystem. 2. No, in fact even in the maintenance proposal core development work is also included and some points, such as operating testnets, monitoring the network health, etc. have been shown to be capable of being handled by the community (SanchoNet). 3. It's very hard to differentiate between "work done that is strictly maintaining the current codebase" versus "work done that happens to maintain the current codebase plus prepare it for new/improved features and functionality" 4. I'm honestly not worried about it. If the community did decide to not fund IO and IO was legitimately in a position that it had to downsize it's staffing forces, smaller, more agile and lean companies/individuals with likely lower per FTE costs could emerge and be given smaller pieces of responsibility which were easier to track in terms of real execution and performance over the course of a given year. All that said, IO doing the work they have already been doing for years with the team that has already learned to work together will of course be the most efficient at cooperating and executing on the "shared vision" from the top of all teams. They may not be the most cost effective, but they get the work done. Cardano will not stop or halt even if we stopped all development of the Haskell node tomorrow, the software is built like a tank and would continue to operate "as is" with no major changes. The SPOs would continue to run their validators, blocks would keep getting made, and life would go on. However, there would be the major question of: "what comes next? Who's going to build it/coordinate across all these disparate teams? And, maybe most importantly, how and how much are we going to pay for it?"

₳23M is being requested for Cardano Critical Integrations V2. This covers ongoing maintenance for Circle USDCx, LayerZero, Pyth and Dune, plus a new native Fireblocks integration for ADA and Cardano Native Tokens. My read: this is less exciting than new dApps, but it is the kind of infrastructure that either gets maintained or slowly becomes unusable. Is this essential upkeep, or another recurring treasury dependency? Not a paid promotion

@IOHK_Charles @StakeWithPride @Fidgetybeast You are missing the core argument the community is making by calling them bagholders when you yourselves are in fact tied economically to the price of ADA. If you are not, then price your proposal at $.50 ada. You stood to benefit when price was above it, now let's see intent.

That's what I'm doing with the treasury proposals. There are stakes and dreps need to decide what to do. They are the ones playing chicken with the fate of the ecosystem. This isn't a let's hold out for a better deal. We cut our operations in half and are running barebones. Further cuts mean that we shut down entire areas of engineer or research.

Honestly, Cardano can win. Self sabotage is not good. Focus on adding in more users. Everyone in their own way is doing their part. I'm not so much into the Governance aspect I'll leave that to others. I'm in the meme sector the fun sector. I want people to join the $SNEK Community and use the @snekdotfun API. I want people to drink some more @snek_energy when they're low on energy. I want people to use @snekx_io if they're wanting to create their own supply of tokens here on Cardano. Not focused on the negative noise. Instead, I'll stay focused on the fun side. Bring back the 23'-24' Cardano vibes. Would I love to see @IOHK_Charles take some Ketamine and go wolf mode again? Absolutely I would. Cardano has a very big chance to do good. Learning from POLKADOT on Governance on what not to do. Learning about Ethereum and making sure we don't fall down either. I hope we could all get along. I hope we can make things fun again. I hope we could enjoy each others company again.

Quote-reposting my earlier thread because I want to be clear about what was actually at stake, and why I think every ADA holder needs to understand it. The short version: Cardano's decentralized governance was built to prevent exactly the situation that just played out. It did not prevent it. Navjit, as a DRep, asked a basic question: Should DReps who hold paid Midnight Ambassador roles abstain on IO's treasury proposals due to conflict of interest? That is not a personal attack. That is the textbook governance question. Every recusal rule in every legitimate institution is built on it. The response was not procedural. It was a coordinated public campaign by parties with direct financial stakes in the proposals passing - @IOHK_Charles himself, IO employees, and IO-aligned contractors. Within hours, IAG was down 32%. Real holders lost real money. These are not abstract token holders. They are families inside our own ecosystem. The same people who hold IAG also hold ADA. The damage was inflicted on Cardano's own community. What concerns me more than the attack itself is what it confirms about the structure. Look at who sits where: → IO proposes the slate of treasury actions. → Midnight Foundation, an IO spin-out led by a former IO executive, sits on the Pentad coordinating the ecosystem response. → Anastasia Labs, run by Phil DiSarro (@phil_uplc), is named as a delivery partner in the proposals (Midgard). Phil also holds an elected seat on the Constitutional Committee - the body that rules on the constitutionality of those same proposals - and on Intersect's Open Source Committee. → Blockfrost, acquired by IO, has its own ₳7.92M ask in the same slate. Every check in the system is, in part, populated by the entity being checked. That is not what CIP-1694 was designed to produce. I am not asking anyone to take my word for any of this. The proposal documents, election results, ownership chains, and independent reporting are all on the public record. Links at the end of this post. Read them. Decide for yourself. My concern is not personal. I am a DRep. My job is to vote on what is good for Cardano. What I saw over the past weeks tells me this: Asking the wrong question - even a question the Constitution explicitly anticipates - now carries a documented risk of losing your project's value, your community's savings, and your standing in the ecosystem. If that is the operating rule, no project will raise the next question. That is how a decentralized network stops being decentralized in practice while remaining decentralized on paper. I voted NO on the IO proposals because I do not think the current leadership of IO can be trusted to wield this much treasury allocation without abusing the position. To other DReps: → Look at the documented record. → Vote your own conscience. → Ask CC members to recuse where conflicts exist. → Redelegate if your current DRep won't engage with this honestly. Cardano was built to be better than this. Whether it is, is now up to all of us. Holger - Guarding our Vision!@HolgerCardano24

Alright, everyone. Here comes some transparency for the people who have me as their DRep. Disclaimer: EVERYTHING I write is my personal view/opinion and has NOTHING to do with my position as CTO of @IagonOfficial -- Sad day for our Vision, but here we go: I just voted with NO on every single IO proposal. -- Why so? Because I personally deem the CEO of IO @IOHK_Charles as unfit for the job - to handle our Ecosystem in a proper way. -- Holger,..WTF? What do you mean? I could tell you a lot of stories why, and I could tell you a lot of stories where I defended him from a perspective of: "he is also just a human like all of us - humans have bad days, make mistakes, bad decision, etc." BUT (!!!) we reached a point where it is NOT funny anymore! When people ask Charles on X why he is bashing @NaVi_GaT0R (CEO of IAGON) and @IagonOfficial itself, then he answers with (i quote): "He just downvoted the IO funding proposals [...] this is objectively wrong". -- Let's get this straight: As of today it looks like the Founder of #Cardano - who "invented" and "created" the decentralised governance - will shame/blame you socially (with his more than 1 Million follower X-Account) when you vote against his proposals where he asks for over 140 Million ADA. (That is even at the current low ADA price: over $35 Million USD) Please remember that IOHK got 2,463,071,701 ADA (2.4 Billion) over the Genesis Block Distribution. So, IF you use the decentralised governance system and have a different opinion on how and/or how much money should be spent, then you or your company/Cardano project are going to be slaughtered by the Founder of the Ecosystem himself. HOW DARE YOU VOTE against the "King" himself, when he asks for money,.. you "little peasant" ?!?!! For me it does NOT matter if the topic is about IAGON, SNEK, or the holy Virgin Mary. The decentralised governance system is to vote and state your opinion - like it or not, but free speech is free speech. UNLESS you vote against the "King" then "he" sends (or at least he does not tell them to not do it) his "Soldiers" (Employees) like Riley who post more FUD to create more "uncertainty" for those $IAG holders which are not always up-2-date and only act based on the price and/or fud they see. And when the $IAG price takes a hit, because of his 1M reach + that of his "Soldiers", the Founder of #Cardano then posts a Bane video - which looks like a response to the $IAG price-crash-chart for X users. Hosky, writes under the price-crash-chart screenshot: "Let's see if it works" and tags Charles. Charles replies to Hosky with a video showing a scene with Bane (from the movie "The Dark Knight Rises") I quote what Bane says within the 15 seconds of the video: Bane: "Your punishment must be more severe" Dark Knight: "Torture?" Bane: "Yes,..But not of your body...of your soul" So, Charles requests over 140M ADA from the Cardano Treasury, because 2.4 Billion Genesis ADA is NOT enough. Then the CEO of one of the biggest Projects on Cardano (IAGON) says: nah bro, i do not like that - let me vote with: no Then Charles runs the drums to hurt IAGON, because IAGON's CEO wanted to exercise free speech in the voting-process "Charles" invented. And when he reached his goal to hurt a project within his own ecosystem, then he makes a statement and which is presented to the X community as: "The punishment must be more severe, it must be torture of the soul. " Brings me to a simple personal question - i would like to ask Charles: Are you fucking nuts, or just an asshole?! How can someone self-sabotage his own Ecosystem so hard?! OH WAIT, he created midnight - so fuck Cardano, right?! Is it that Charles? -- So long story short. I voted NO on all IO proposals, because Charles manages it. The IO employees are most likely all good people, but the fish is rotting from the head down. -- Just a no-vote, or do i also have a better idea? At a first glance - i would say - we should create a company, which hires all good IO workers, and we pay them from the treasury directly. No mad middleman who loves to shit on his own work one day and eats at the same place the next day. -- FINAL statement: Could this all be written more nice? Yes Did I instead just write down what is in my head? Yes Is it therefore maybe not perfect? Yes But does it still deliver what my opinion is? I think/hope so. And look at my X-Name: "Holger - Guarding our Vision!" That is not because it should look fancy. It is this way, because i mean it! And that also means, that the little peasant stands up when the "King" is doing some bullshit and not only salutes and says: Yes Sir! (As many DReps do, because they only follow Charles blindly - no matter what he says or does) Like what I wrote/think? Want to support it? Does it align with your thoughts? Then feel free to delegate or switch your DRep delegation to me. DRep-ID: drep1y2k8uedxj5xzymxxzf07plg0t5xd4mmckwg9lwkwhdlwyesy0eyf8 Thank you for taking the time to read till the end!🙏 p.s.: @IOHK_Charles this time you fucked it up ultra hard,... maybe today it's me with the bad mood, with a mistake, with a wrong statement - I am also just a human. But from my perspective all this feels more than wrong!

CC members call: Please, can the Constitutional Committee clarify whether third parties should be allowed to exercise governance rights attached to deposited/custodial ADA without explicit opt-in from the actual ADA owners? If users deposit ADA for liquidity, yield, or other DeFi purposes, does that automatically authorize protocols/custodians to delegate that voting power to a DRep or influence governance actions on their behalf? Internal platform voting is not necessarily the same as explicit consent from every ADA holder. This feels like an important governance precedent that needs clarity before it becomes normalized. Thanks!
