@taimurabdaal Many many people genuinely enjoy booking trips. It's a rare luxury! Same goes for things like reservations at restaurants.
English

Then you aren’t the type obsessed with the best price, least amount of time in the air, a decent layover to make your connection, comparing airports, finding the right seats. The rest of us? If I could give parameters to an AI to ‘always follow’ and then have it book the flights for me? Huge stress relief.
English

@taimurabdaal I can confirm that booking flights is one of the worst online experiences I’ve ever had. Second is booking rental cars.
English

@taimurabdaal Agree. All I really want is Google Flights as a mobile app
English

@LycurganMan @taimurabdaal if we're good enough for the #1 tennis player in the world, we're probably good enough for you
English

@taimurabdaal I have to buy 6 tickets when my family flies, I’m for sure personally clicking around awhile for the optimal outcome. I’m not outsourcing that to an AI.
English

It’s easy if you don’t care about optimizations, but otherwise can be time consuming. Some examples of considerations when booking a flight:
- cheapest flight dates to book
- if there’s 2-3 destinations, should I fly A B C, or B A C or C B A etc for cheapest flight and hotels during those period?
- are there award redemptions possible for some dates?
- is booking today better or waiting a few more days for price to potentially go down?
English

@taimurabdaal one time i was developing a complex workflow of LLM agents to get my family from Helsinki to Stockholm and my retired mom was like I can just book the tickets for you and i was like YES THANK YOU OH GOD
English

@taimurabdaal yeah, imo the most time consuming part is just comparing different departures/arrivals and airlines to find the best value+price combo
English

@taimurabdaal ikr, I will also spend hours on the flight, so it’s worth investing just few minutes to make sure my experience is 100% how I want it
English

@window_manager @taimurabdaal huge problem when youre an executive, flight is cancelled, sweating bullets for 2 hours trying to rebook a flight.
English

@taimurabdaal Ditto restaurant reservations, like that is always what they have AI do at trade shows to show how wonderful it is, and I’m like “that’s not a big deal for me”.
English

@taimurabdaal I think they’re solving a problem for a market that doesn’t exist. Looks cool though.
English

@hammer_mt @taimurabdaal That's why we charge a $1000/mo membership fee for concierge-grade service mike. People are happy to pay
English

@taimurabdaal The last attempt to make it profitable was hipmunk which optimized for comfortable flights with good times but it ultimately failed because everybody just wants to book the cheapest and the cheapest don't pay affiliate fees because they don't need to.
English

@im_roy_lee They used Claude. It’s AI slop. It produces flights that don’t exist. It stores your sensitive information behind basic encryption. It’s legit trash.
English

@johnbutton @pitdesi @im_roy_lee idk about these guys but we do. invite-only for the most frequent flyers.
English

@alexsllater Soar wants me to pay 30% more because it isn't aware of Norwegian Airlines
English

Stop wasting time.

English

@AncestorStoic if only there was a tool that was 24/7 and backed by concierge-grade support
English

@alexsllater it can't find any routes and any flights
English

@im_roy_lee A lot of people have basically solved shipping speed.
The harder moat now is distribution with taste.
You can build fast with the new stack.
You still can’t fake demand, positioning, or timing
English

@buildVcs @im_roy_lee u know ball (we actually save way more and our users fly 10+ times)
English

@im_roy_lee Pretty fun value prop - save 2 min (8min a year) for the avg person that flies 3-4 times max a year. Also they’ll still have to choose their seat at some point which gives away the time savings.
