What made us laugh: From no where, he asked me why teachers often carry bu-bags like I carried. I told him ‘I moved with my samosas’.

@UGLawyer By accepting to be killed for his teachings, there is something we learn from Socrates. By running away from persecution, there is something we learn from Aristotle. Presenting it as a question of ‘Either-Or’ would be a ‘False dichotomy’.

Outgoing Kawempe South MP Hajji Kazibwe Bashir has defended his absence from the public eye, saying he was busy working even before entering politics. He added that it is not true he went silent after being elected just to “eat” the money.

A fiery speech by South Africa's🇿🇦 EFF leader Julius Malema, over xenophobic attacks targeting foreign nationals. “You say Zimbabweans take your jobs. Nigerians take your jobs. You march, close shops and beat up people. Tell us after doing that how many jobs have you created, by beating up these Nigerians, Zimbabweans and Ghanaians? You beat people because they took your jobs. You close a shop that hires people. How many have you created after beating and chasing them? Unskilled men, with no skills, none whatsoever, say somebody took away their jobs. I don't want your votes if you behave like that. Take them away. Pushing out of school an African child that looks like you, I will never do that. You can take your votes. Make me die with my conscience very clearly. I will never refuse a pregnant woman of African descent to give birth in the clinics of South Africa. Never!”

Seen many opposing the Bill while appearing at the parliamentary committee sitting. Constructive ideas are welcome to help shape a balanced framework that safeguards both national security and economic growth. As both a leader and a businessperson, I support a strong Sovereignty & National Security Bill for UGANDA. Security is the foundation of prosperity no nation can thrive if it cannot protect itself from harmful infiltration. Leading economies have implemented similar frameworks while remaining open to investment, including: the USA PATRIOT Act & CFIUS (US), National Security and Investment Act (UK), FIRB (Australia), Investment Canada Act, Germany’s foreign trade controls, and Japan’s FEFTA. Across Africa, the Middle East & Asia, comparable systems exist, such as South Africa’s Protection of Investment Act, Egypt’s investment screening framework, UAE national security review mechanisms, Saudi Arabia’s FDI regulations, India’s FDI screening rules, Singapore’s investment safeguards, and China’s national security review system. In UGANDA, we must promote economic growth while keeping national security paramount. As a Minister for Young People, I appeal for increased investment to create employment opportunities for our youth without compromising our national security. UGANDA must strike the right balance thus protect critical sectors, ensure transparency, and avoid unnecessary barriers to trade and investment. I encourage legislators / @Parliament_Ug to support this Bill with balanced economic amendments that reflect our democratic values and free market principles. Let us support this Bill with our nation’s development and stability as our highest priority. National security is paramount. A secure nation is a prosperous nation. Sovereignty must be protected. Let all patriots give constructive proposals rather than opposing in totality. Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi MSY&CA / Entrepreneur

Authorities have arrested more than 200 foreign nationals in a crackdown targeting illegal immigrants and undocumented business operators across Uganda, according to Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Simon Peter Mundeyi. Among those detained were dozens of men and women found in a Bukoto apartment complex without valid immigration documents, as investigations into illegal work permits, visa violations, and unlawful business activities continue. #NTVNews 📷@lbrahim_Kavuma
