The fact is frenetic today: "It's so hard." "It's not our fault." "Well, we'll try." "No one wants our product anymore." There's truth in all of it. It IS hard. But the ones who feel sorry for themselves never make it. Not in my experience. Go faster. Pick yourself up. Upgrade the team. Stretch the cash. Find a way.

ChatGPT is just reading your finance s data…. wait till it starts writing… shifting you into lower cost index funds, transferring balances on credit cards to enjoy the interest free period, moving CDs to banks with higher rates.. You think they’re going after fintech naw they’re going after all consumer facing finance.. But wait, they’re not done yet.. because financial firms are also some of the largest advertisers.. so if Chat starts allocating funds… those ad dollars disappear.

On topic: there is a mistake I saw large companies make in late 2025/early 2026 which is they picked their coding model provider, chat tool, and harness and put the whole company on it. There was a big leap in model ability and folks felt confident. I have been walking into these teams and they have no idea how good codex is or that notion AI is sick af, of what’s what in the agent world. And now they’re sunk in a contract AND internal intertia while missing out on the best & most efficient tools of the moment. Let me say it again for people in the back: We are pre convergence on tools!!! Keep your organizational options open!!! Consumer (well, enterprise) choice is a gift when everyone is competing for your business and capabilities jump every month. Leverage it.

Feels like everyone in the Twitter AI bubble is switching to Codex lately But I think Anthropic will release something new soon, like a new model, way better app, or crazy new features and then everyone will just flock back

s1mple haters will watch this unfold and still try to say he's "washed" s1mple doesn't deserve sympathy for willingly entering a prison of his own design, but he's one of the best Counter-Strike players even in 2026

Friendly Reminder: If your income has not risen by at least 30% since Covid hit, you are now poorer. And that is using the government’s own data. The real number is likely 40% plus.

This makes me sick and want to move my kids out of SF. Not because it’s too expensive. But because tech striver culture is so warped, I worry it’s unhealthy for them to be around. By any objective measure this is not “broke,” not even in SF (ELEVEN MILLION PRE TAX!!!! 3M house! Chunky nest egg! An email job that lets you pay for private school AND a f/t nanny!) This is not a “996 and camping” lifestyle. This is a “we’re taking the kids to Japan for 2 weeks with the au pair” lifestyle. It’s not the expense that keeps people trapped, it’s the mindset. There will always be someone with more. The only way you can be truly poor is being unable to see your blessings for what they are and let someone else decide what is and isn’t “enough.”

They will still be SF brokie - 50% in taxes (37% federal / 13% state) $3-4m cash on a home in SF Likely needs renovation $250k- $1m Leaves you with $1-2m Many with kids or on the way Nanny -$100k/yr Day care / School - $45k/year/1 kid Camps/Extra curricular - $30-100k Tesla - $50k They will still be at the office 996 to not really enjoy any of this and and will only have money to hike and camp.

It is time for the United States Postal Service to ban junk mail. Unsolicited spam calls are already prohibited by the FCC. Emails are heavily regulated by the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. Junk mail is the majority of mail, 100 million trees per year. Enough!

I visited an abandoned onsen village and stayed at one of the remaining open hotels. This would have gone so hard on the 90s. Now, most businesses are shut and decrepit.

@gregce10 @mvanhorn My gut reaction said something around leveraging compound engineering skills but I wasn't sure taking this work you've exposed, going into the lab. Thanks again

The OSS that @mvanhorn is creating is very impressive. I've loved using the `/last30days` skill and so gave the cli-printing-press a try, printing a cli for Tella.tv in ~1 hour of agentic runtime. github.com/mvanhorn/print… While it didn't one-shot, the original commit was ~32K lines and only required a handful of clean up commits in manual testing / verification. But the whole recursive experience I watched was very.. um automagical. I dug into the determinism that keeps the trains running because I was like how the heck does this work? At its core the go binary helps avoid 5 agentic mistakes: 1. Context Window Overflows 2. Drift 3. Stuck loops 4. Crashes and, 5. False Success Below are the 12 foundational techniques that allow you to `/printing-press Notion` and get something dope out the other end

People are printing wild things for the @ppressdev. I LOVE OPEN SOURCE. Whoop, YouTube, Substack, Peloton now have CLI's.. what?! all these were printed by the community while I was sleeping last night. Also we hit 1.1M views on the launch video! These all still need to be validated but thank you @GregVanHorn @mattbrockman @nicocorrea @twiid44 @chirantan @Beomgithb
