@K9Cognoscente The way that timelines have accelerated leaves boomers who are with the times completely behind. They don't understand why people don't like Tucker or Massie. Weird times, but Massie has outed himself as a grifter. He used to be the only politician I liked too.

@prowrstlngstrng IMO the Vivek 2024 Christmas crashout was the start of the cascade. I'm been terrible at predicting timelines, but 2050 seems a tad far considering how far the pendulum has swung in 18 months.

@BowTiedCrow The vast majority of people cannot conceptualize what they have not personally seen. It's like telling someone in the 1800s about self driving cars. When you've seen someone your size do something you couldn't dream of effortlessly, genetics aren't a question.

Re: Gen Z and food. 1.) Stop calling everybody old enough to grow facial hair a Boomer. It is making you confused. 2.) Actual Boomers are in their 70's and 80's, and did not grow up eating fast food every day. 3.) Gen X grew up when peak T.V. dinner was replaced by the invention of the Dollar Menu, and while we did eat tons of fast food by the time we got to the work force, most of us saw the Arby's Five for Five as some sort of miracle, and never forgot about ramen and hot dogs. The Dollar Menu was killed by covid and minimum wage, and it does suck. You do have it worse than Gen X did living in the 1$ McDouble era. Nevertheless, the solutions proposed by Actual Boomers are the valid solutions to your situation.

People in the replies pushing back that “Satya Nadella, Sundar Pichai & Sanjay Mehrotra didn’t found their companies.” True… they’ve all only just >10x’d the value the their companies since taking over as CEO. Creating massive wealth & prosperity for Americans in the process.

@PalmerLuckey @mcuban The big hospitals would completely fail. They'd lose their biggest revenue source and collapse under the weight of bloated admin. The idea that anything would be business as usual is simply incorrect. It would be a huge net positive.

@mcuban The biggest hospitals etc are already running the system more or less as they want. The question isn't what they would do with less government control, it is what kind of competition would spring up. Doctors would be allowed to start/co-own hospitals again, for example.

Ok. Take government completely out of healthcare. No rules. No laws. No Medicare. No Medicaid. Hospitals, insurance companies, can do anything they want. What do they do ? If you were running any of the biggest insurance companies or hospitals, what would you do differently once gov was completely out of healthcare ?
Matthew Bednarik@BednarikMatt

@mcuban @GovBillLee Or just let the free market compete and get the government out of Healthcare. A free market would inevitably lead to lower costs for consumers.

What keeps hospitals afloat is a patient population that is entirely funded by medicare and medicaid. The big hospitals would fail spectacularly. Nothing about removing government would be business as usual healthcare. And that's a good thing.

@saveusculture Code and coding are very tangible terms to anyone who has spent time programming in a text editor. To AI users, it's a conceptual transformation of a prompt by an agent. To the AI investor, it has the same NGU property as the underlying investment, which is nonsense.

@BowTiedOdin I'm celebrating every instance of this. The more arrogantly they speak out, the more people they convince that they do not belong in the US. X is a subset of the population, but an incredibly meaningful one when it comes to broader trends and policy. They're all going home.

@K9Cognoscente @BowTiedGSV In the case of someone calling too much and raising with a monster, it's basically poker solipsism. They don't understand the game involves persistent pattern recognition and they act predictably. I like systematic irrationalism for the other instances.

Was just watching people at poker table. We all have our flaws. But a person who calls too much does it systematically…as in when they raise, you should run because they have a monster. It’s illogical insofar as being suboptimal for making money but it’s systemically so. Akin to people being into conspiracies, or having TDS, or getting attached to this or that market narrative. It’s illogical in that instance yes and when you keep watching you see the underlying systemic approach that keeps yielding the single irrational instances.

You study in the US, get an OPT, fall in love and get married, find a job, maybe even have a kid And then to be a permanent resident you need to quit your job, move away from your family and somehow survive 6 months in a country you left 4 years ago Ridiculous policy

I hired an anon coach that everyone on here knows. Had multiple conversations with him and made the decision based on the information he provided. Top 5 decision in my life honestly. Guess I’m a low IQ retard 😂
Mikey@GaintrustMikey

The craziest are the dudes who ARE anonymous selling coaching. Putting aside the likelihood they’ve never walked the walk and can’t intuit as well as an experienced athlete. — You wanna hire somebody to handle your hormones who can’t be held accountable if they fuck you up? IQ test failure.
