The flatbed market, the most sensitive to industrial demand, is on fire. Spot rates at $3.69/mile. +$.46/mile since the beginning of March. I haven't seen charts like this since COVID.

If approved, Georgia would observe Atlantic time year-round—effectively locking in permanent daylight saving time without needing congressional action. This is a terrible mistake. Please tell your governor to veto this bill We need to keep it on Eastern Standard time, not Atlantic Standard Time

@fenixeleventwo @SupportStandard You'll figure it out. We had standard time all year in Indiana for decades. Many who commuted across state lines for work, or watched tv from the nearby state, or shopped across the line got used to it. That doesn't mean they weren't happy when we finally switched though.

People claim the “Japanese wait for a crosswalk even when they don’t have to” thing is an overblown myth. No. I just waited 30 seconds with an elderly couple at this cross walk, about one lane wide, at 6am with zero cars around. Happens every day in all Japanese cities (outside of central Tokyo)
