@bradguy99 @GPrime85 Yeah and they’re main quest objectives. So you agree with OP, this is a bad story with bad quest design, which ISNT a mistake that Red Dead makes, and therefore isn’t an apt comparison???
English

> Die in combat
> Wake up in a fishing hamlet
> Fight bandits
> Go to town
> Arm wrestle a rando
> Give a coin to a beggar
> Save a lady in a sewer
> Rescue a cat from a roof
> Sweep a chimney
> Unlock a random door in a castle
> This is the main quest
> The only thing telling you to do this is your radar
...this is a 70 dollar game
English

@Medsochist @GPrime85 Mediocre games don’t win GOTY. 0/10 rage bait.
English

@bradguy99 @GPrime85 Your rebuttal to a mediocre game is another mediocre game?
English

@CoDdiscussion Me looking for big red one (I am fueled by nostalgia)
English

@CastlekdotPNG @GPrime85 Up until arm wrestling the first couple points from OP are driven by the story and the npcs in front of you. Posters on the notice board do this too.
I am annoyed with things like “go to the tavern” or “give a coin to the beggar” “help villagers.” Things I’d do on my own
English

@bradguy99 @GPrime85 OP is right and this is an apples to oranges comparison. CD has no continuity between objectives. No dialogue or reason for your character to do things. No figuring anything out. Just “read the quest objective.” Even Rockstar at its worst, most linear moments was never this bad
English

@Der_Kernel_ “Stormcloaks are racist” but I never seen a dark elf in solitude
English

@Demonic_Xael @GPrime85 A lot of stranger missions are really great but they wouldn’t be found without a marker bc a lot are in areas where there isn’t much going on or reason to go. Markers to show where there’s something to do is helpful, but I do agree and that excessive handholding is a big problem.
English

@bradguy99 @GPrime85 I agree with Nigel arguments but the stranger missions are just side quests so they don't really need to make since
English

@SquidrowWilson @jaythepalmtree @GPrime85 And there’s nothing wrong with that. I didn’t like the sequel as much bc I think a lot of the additional bs and “things to do” made it less fun. There’s not a lot of games being made that are engaging and fun for their entirety, and it’s especially hard in an open world.
English

@GPrime85 Red dead is beloved despite making you do some tedious bs that isn’t fun. You don’t have to like any game, and valid criticisms are respected. Just don’t fall into a habit of writing off a game before you get to the deep end bc the shallow end is boring. Herding cattle sucks.
English

@GPrime85 > Die in combat
> Wake up on a farm
> Fight coyotes
> Go to town
> Play horseshoes with randos
> Herd cattle
> Save a horse from a barn fire
> Chauffeur an old man in the desert
> This is the main quest
> The only thing telling you to do this is map
…This was a 60 dollar game

English

@JorgeValonqar Looks like the instructions for a temu bluetooth speaker
English

@DrewDaBrew @SquidrowWilson @jaythepalmtree @GPrime85 Elden ring is fantastic because there’s little to no fat on it. You have to kill certain enemies and bosses to progress and get key items, but that’s the fun part of the game. I can beat the game without having to mop the floors of Raya Lucaria for an hour or some bs.
English

@SquidrowWilson @bradguy99 @jaythepalmtree @GPrime85 The combat is elite idk what games u playing bro like honestly 😂 is elden ring trash bc theres no story and just a big boss checklist or do you like that game bc ppl told you to?
English

@SquidrowWilson @jaythepalmtree @GPrime85 Also yes I did not buy the game to be a fucking chimney sweep. None of what op or I listed is necessarily fun. But red dead is beloved despite having some tedious bullshit. I’m trying not to fall in the trap of wroting off a game completely from the first 30 minutes.
English

@bradguy99 @jaythepalmtree @GPrime85 If you're satisfied with literally any random bullshit as long as it's "things to do", you're the problem with the gaming industry
"Oh boy! Pointless busy work to do for 600 hours mmm more slop please! I love watching the same pickaxe swinging animation 30 times for +1 damage!"
English

@GameRoll_ I retract any defense I may have previously had for Crimson Desert
English

@Demonic_Xael @GPrime85 And you’re acting like CD doesn’t do the same thing. No one tells you to go pick up Nigel West Dickens in the desert. The map tells you. Same goes for stranger missions.
CD is so dense that I can forgive a little hand holding in the PROLOGUE instead of nitpicking it to shit.
English

@bradguy99 @GPrime85 Yeah don't comment on the fact that people literally tell you what to do in Rdr 'die in combat' because the goal was to arrest an outlaw 'wake up on farm and kill coyotes' to pay back those farmers for nursing John
English

@jaythepalmtree @GPrime85 Fair, if op complained about that I probably wouldn’t have said anything.
Compalining about having things to do in a game sounds like op doesn’t know what games are.
English

@bradguy99 @GPrime85 At least it actually had a decent story with actual well written characters that you care for. Been playing CD for 9 hours and no one is interesting at all or pulling me into the story, it’s all bland.
English

@realKalos One one hand we’re pointing out that it’s fake
On the other hand we’re telling them what to fix
English

aw hell nah bruh why dis nigga sleeve do that 💀💀💀
