@bennyjohnson Seriously, what is going on with airplanes? Is there a genuine spike in incidents or has it just become mainstream to report on every one so we are just more aware now?

I'm slowly learning that some people who are intelligent & kind in real-life can be real assholes online. I hope this changes as social media algorithms improve. But in the mean time, I'll just take stuff said online less seriously. Love you all ❤

@GadSaad @NFL Would you wanna run full speed into a 245 pound dude? Kick off is irresponsible. Every change of possession after a score should just start on the 20.

Why has the @NFL changed the spot from where kickoffs happen, thus almost eliminating all kickoff returns? I am utterly baffled.

Wait but this is objectively true. I’m confused by yours and @scarlett4kids ‘s comments. He’s not saying human rights shouldn’t exists but rather we as humans made them up. No other animal on earth knows what humans right are or what that United States is. These are indeed good things but they only exist in the minds of humans.

@ramit I mean, they aren’t special magical words. It’s just the definition of white supremacy.

I have a special fascination with highly intelligent people who throw away their reputations to align with the right wing This guy attacked immigrants, celebrated white supremacists like Steve King (who endorsed him), repeatedly praised Trump (while competing with him, which is hilarious), and his Yale-educated surgeon wife stood by his side as he made every single depraved comment All to get tossed aside by Trump with a single social media post Now he's out of the race. Good riddance

@ramit I did answer this previously. I think he is probably not a white supremacist. If there is a record of him declaring white people are the superior race then I’ll change my mind.

I’m not defending a white supremacist, I’m challenging you. I can sense you want so badly to “dunk” on me or whatever but I’m not so much interested in that kind of dialogue. I’m challenging your strong opinions towards Vivek Ramaswamy, who in my opinion is pretty level headed. You have a problem with people agreeing with competitors, offering bold solutions to real problems, and are comfortable applying the most harsh labels to people you don’t agree with. Why? What makes you feel that way? Why do you think that constructive dialogue to share with over 200k followers? I’d be more interested to understand your own articulated thoughts instead of a screenshot of a headline.

@ramit Okay so all my questions are random/irrelevant in your opinion. How are they random/irrelevant if they’re directly addressing the aforementioned statement?

"Will these two hold true in the next phase of US growth? Hard to say, but probably not (especially not religion). How cool would it be if everyone could understand each others thoughts exactly and nothing was lost or misconstrued in translation? Does that mean we should ditch other languages? Absolutely not. Shouldn't we be careful about how official documentation is dispersed? Is the wall the right decision? I don't know. But while it's there, don't climb it and I don't see how discouraging climbing it is a white supremacist statement. Not a good look - what was the meeting about? Is the Freedom Party of Austria trying to mimic the Nazi party? Or just against socialism?"

@brady_pnw Tell me the truth. When you were a kid, did you ever think you'd find yourself defending a lengthy, extremely detailed writeup of a white supremacist with random, irrelevant facts & questions so you could conclude he's "most likely not" a white supremacist?

1.) "Preventing babies from being born is not medicine" is a triggering statement. There are many reasons birth control should be available. However, birth rates are at their lowest, millennials are simply not having kids. I would expect a government to encourage safe and healthy reproduction. We know the outcome when governments discourage it (China). 2.) He's opposing the idea of freely using derogatory labels to attack people (i.e using the term "white supremacist" to attack someone you disagree with. nbcnews.com/nightly-news/v… 3.) Christianity being the dominate religion throughout the rise of the United States is objectively true. And it's hard to debate that capitalism wasn't the catalyst to the growth of the US. Will these two hold true in the next phase of US growth? Hard to say, but probably not (especially not religion). 4.) Using a single language to discuss complex topics is important for humans. Albert Einstein himself envied the thought of when much of the developing world largely spoke Latin. How cool would it be if everyone could understand each others thoughts exactly and nothing was lost or misconstrued in translation? Does that mean we should ditch other languages? Absolutely not. 5.) Kinda ties in with #4. Shouldn't we be careful about how official documentation is dispersed? 6.) I don't think people should be climbing 12 foot walls - border injuries are on the rise. Is the wall the right decision? I don't know. But while it's there, don't climb it and I don't see how discouraging climbing it is a white supremacist statement. 7.) The Culture Code is an interesting book - cultures create vastly different human beings, and they don't always mesh beautifully. The US isn't alone here - much of Europe struggles with migration from the Middle East. 8.) Not a good look - what was the meeting about? Is the Freedom Party of Austria trying to mimic the Nazi party? Or just against socialism? 9.) Triggering statement for sure - but relates to my point in #7 10.) I don't know Faith Goldy (or Steve King for that matter). But yeah this would be the most damming one on this list; in my opinion. A quick internet search shows this person has terrible views. I didn't agree with your comment about white supremacy until the very last point - endorsing a person like that does put your character in question. My main point was we should not weaponize words in an attempt to discredit people we don't agree with. The path to answers is sound and rational debate - not adding fuel to the wild fire that our media has created. Still, I don't think anything here proves that Steve King believes that whites are and should be the dominant race. He's probably an asshole, sure, but truly a white supremacist? Most likely not. Thanks for all the info tho! I enjoyed going through these and learned a lot.

Cool. A few: He said: "Preventing babies being born is not medicine. That’s not constructive to our culture and our civilization. If we let our birthrate get down below the replacement rate, we’re a dying civilization." He also said: “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive? Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?” Mr. King said in an interview with The New York Times published last week. Mr. King, in the Iowa State Senate, files a bill requiring schools teach that the United States “is the unchallenged greatest nation in the world and that it has derived its strength from … Christianity, free enterprise capitalism and Western civilization.” Mr. King is the chief sponsor of a law making English the official language of Iowa. Mr. King sues the Iowa Secretary of State for posting voting information on an official website in Spanish, Laotian, Bosnian and Vietnamese. On the House floor, Mr. King demonstrates a model of a 12-foot concrete border wall topped with electrified wire that he designed: “We need to do a few other things on top of that wall, and one of them being to put a little bit of wire on top here to provide a disincentive for people to climb over the top or put a ladder there. We could also electrify this wire … We do that with livestock all the time.” In a tweet during a meeting in Amsterdam with Mr. Wilders and Frauke Petry, the leader of Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany party, Mr. King says, “Cultural suicide by demographic transformation must end.” Also in October, Mr. King meets in Austria with leaders of the far-right Freedom Party, including Heinz-Christian Strache and Norbert Hofer. The party was founded in the 1950s by former Nazis. Mr. King tweets agreement with Viktor Orban, Hungary’s authoritarian leader: “Mixing cultures will not lead to a higher quality of life but a lower one.” Mr. King endorses a Toronto mayoral candidate, Faith Goldy, who had recited the “14 words” used by neo-Nazis and gave an interview to a podcast for the neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer. There are many more in this single article, and even more when you do a cursory search for Steve King's white supremacist comments. What do you think of Steve King now?

Part of me is against the use of hashtags on social media platforms. They seem to create cult like thinking - everyone copy pasting the same thing and not really providing their own ideas or context. #DELETECOINBASE is a great example of this. Coinbase has done a lot to improve the space, yet thousands of people will mindlessly shout down at the platform.
