Ending DACA will shatter the lives of nearly 2 million people in our country who were brought here as children. It will separate families and tear communities apart.

Excellent resource. Amazingly, the government doesn’t publish such a map of the immigration courts - adding to the intentionally opaque nature of immigration enforcement in the 🇺🇸

1/ I've spent the last 18 months investigating how our government reached the point of taking children away from their parents as a way to discourage migration to the United States. Here's my story about how and why it happened, and who's responsible. theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…

@SpeakSamuel I don’t hear him opposing documented dreamers so much as concern that Congress will help them and then pat themselves on the back for “fixing” the DACA issue. Also, he’s right about the 5th circuit.

The difference is, attorneys (or at least the good ones) will tell you what the really problems w your case may be or give you facts you don't really want to hear. This is why they are good. Notarios will promise you the moon, only to get you a one-way ticket to a removal order

This ⬇️. The damage by notarios & wannabe-attorneys (especially on social media) is enormous, often fatal to chance to immigrate. Immigration - both substantively & procedurally- is so complex, please PLEASE talk to an attorney about your case. Try aila.org/about/immigrat…

The Supreme Court is long overdue for modernization, starting with the end of lifetime appointments. I thought 18-year terms would be best. There’s excessive gerontocracy in DC without adding to it.

I'm not trying to be inflammatory, but in Thomas's concurrence about which substantive due process cases to overturn, was it hypocritical for him to mention Obergefell v Hodges, Griswold v Connecticut, and Lawrence v Texas, but not Loving v Virginia?

In case the Dobbs news wasn't bad enough, on a VOICE VOTE, the House Appropriations committee, including multiple Dems, just approved a GOP amendment to the FY2023 funding bill which would defund Border Patrol/CBP from being allowed to exempt people from Title 42. Disgraceful.

DHS’s promise reminds of a woman named Rosa. She survived the El Paso massacre in 2019. Afterwards, she worked with prosecutors to build their case against the shooter. Then ICE deported her. I wrote about this in a 2021 piece for @thenation thenation.com/article/societ…
