I spent the last few months talking to people across the political spectrum, and to people who want nothing to do with politics at all. Here is what I learned.
We are not a divided country. We are a country being divided, on purpose, by an American oligarchy that profits from the fight. They’ve captured our government, denied our healthcare, looted our treasury, and saddled us with crippling debt.
I believe in a New New Deal. Healthcare as a human right. The right of every family to a decent home, and an end to endless wars.
And a dividend paid to every American from the AI economy, because these machines were built on the whole of human inheritance. That inheritance belongs to all of us, and not just to the handful of men playing God with our very existence.
And none of it happens if we just move on. Donald Trump, his family, and his administration are robbing us blind, not just of our money, but of our faith in one another, and they have to answer for it. Truth and reconciliation, not revenge. Then we break the system that let them do it.
The question is not whether we will lose our democracy. The question is whether we will fight to take back what has already been stolen.
I learned in recovery that you can’t heal what you won’t name. Neither can a country.

ICE arrested Jose Jairo Rivas-Santiago, a Honduran national and suspected MS-13 gang associate convicted of murder and armed robbery, upon his release from the Virginia Department of Corrections.
🔎In 2019, ICE @HSI_HQ special agents arrested Rivas-Santiago on charges of armed robbery and conspiracy related to an MS-13 gang murder and turned him over to the Richmond City Police Department for prosecution. Two years later, he was found guilty and sentenced to prison.
This murderer was prevented from returning to a U.S. neighborhood because the state’s correctional facility honored our immigration detainer.

Hey, @ThomTillis Todd Blanche lied over and over when he said he could not legally meet with survivors. Surprise- once you told him that your vote might depend on it, he suddenly found he could. And then slammed the door shut on them. A vote for him would be a middle finger to the constitution. I hope you’re better than that.

DHS published a rule today that is intended to ban all low-income legal immigrants. It rescinds a rule requiring the govt to show legal immigrants will "primarily" depend on welfare and replaces it with NOTHING, literally unbounded discretion. Never seen anything like it.

These new restrictions will only make it harder for international students and researchers to complete their studies in the U.S. and contribute their education to the U.S. workforce after graduating….

BYU and Utah both need some major out of conference wins to boost national credibility. Winning the Holy War is great but it doesn’t move the perception needle.
BYU plays Notre Dame this year.
Utah plays The U next year.
It’d be great if both teams could schedule major, top 15 OOC opponents every year.

All the bad cases would have been easily stopped by changing duration of status to a 10 year cap instead.
This change will just lead to bad outcomes and be ultimately reversed by Democrat adminitration unlike a more conservative reform.

The most anti-legal immigrant administration ever just made it illegal for international students to transfer schools or change majors or shift any "educational objective" in their 1st year and for graduate students **at any point** ever, at all. There is no legal basis for this

@ckuck A friend of mine just talked to their DSO and she's been told that for a higher level education they may need to leave and get a new visa and come back under this new rule which is quite insane!
