Crazy story: A bank analyst published a report showing Kalshi users lose money even faster than sports gamblers, so Kalshi first tried to pressure the data provider to change their data and then accused them and the analyst of conspiring to extort them when that doesn’t work.

If money doesn’t go to parks then not sure why they are operating as a non profit.
I think the point is, saying C3 just paid $100k is intellectually dishonest and im not a Live Nation apologist.

@brendanyancy @AleshireLaw Yes to Austin Parks Foundation. But not much of that actually goes to actual parks. Much of it says at APF to pay high salaries and organize volunteers -- which actual volunteers could do more effectively. There needs to be far more cold hard cash spent on the parks.

Stinks to High Heaven. The Council should have required its approval of the terms of a 15-year contract, not delegated it to a staff member with an apparent conflict of interest. This is how Austin taxpayers get ripped off.

Canva is one of those companies that I still don’t really understand how it exists
Like if you went to a VC and offered to make a slightly more fun PPT, they’d laugh in your face
They had no real moat (now they do bc of users)
They are based in AUS (extremely rare to succeed)
The product is far inferior than PPT and they are the most well funded company in the world
And they had to win in B2B when their main competitors are already baked in to the P&L
I still don’t understand why anyone gave them money but bravo
