@BrianJustBrian Didn't watch the matches, but are they better than Tobol or about the same? Scottish teams in the qualifiers seem more and more ropey. Like Motherwell with Sligo.

Just on my last tweet there, if that crowd had bounced Derry out of Europe, TL's head would have been on a plinth in the Guildhall. A truly diabolical result for Celtic and proof that there is real opportunity for our league to grow further with the right support.

@simongerman600 I work in that sphere, and even presented with the evidence, many building owners blindly refuse to accept it. It's strange, and a real challenge.

In my job as a demographer and business consultant (yes, I do things beside sharing maps and charts) I constantly come across business owners that are convinced that the loss of some car parks would eat into their profits. Research from across the world suggests otherwise.

@betweenstripes Pre-arranged bollix. Whatever about Wrexham fans, we need to get a handle on this. I'd add, I noticed nothing myself at the time (same as most attendees). Bohs fans nothing but pleasant.

Barry Murphy on tonight's incidents at the Brandywell: "It needs to be rectified because it isn't safe for home supporters and it isn't safe for away supporters." Do you agree?

@simongerman600 For anyone in the area, the replicas of the three ships are part of a museum in Palos de la Frontera. Real eye-opener into what it might have been like on the board. They really are small.

This map shows Christopher Columbus’ route during his first voyage to the New World in 1492. The photo shows a replica of his tiny ship. Imagine being on this little thing for months on end.

Rumour: Anthony Forde to Derry City 🔴⚪️ Forde looks set for a trip across the water, with his contract at Burton Albion now expired. It looks like Derry City are leading the race for the right midfielders signature Thoughts Derry City fans?🤔

@squinteratn For bagels, it's boiling, but also the lye they are soaked in beforehand. Same for pretzels. Hard to get, but Asian shops tend to have it.

Two things I've learned about food in 24hrs. Real bagels are made by boiling. It gives the chewy consistency. The white stringy stuff on an orange is rich in fibre/vitamin C and you should eat it, even though it's pretty tasteless. Now you know too. If you didn't already, obvs.

@bradley_steve @McDonnellDan @Danmcgrath1982 I'd agree that he probably didn't increase attendances outside of Tolka, but the increased media attention/public engagement has raised the profile of the league, which hopefully will lead to political action. He's a useful figure to have in the league.

A pretty sad ending to an incredible story (and yes I know there will plenty of replies from people who are far from sad) The engagement Duff brought to the LOI was unprecedented. Brutal for Shels but will also concern league authorities who used DD angle in selling new era

Shelbourne FC can confirm that Damien Duff has stepped down as first team manager. Everyone at the club wishes Damien and his family the very best for the future. He leaves with our deepest thanks. 🔗 shelbournefc.ie/club-statement…

@BrianJustBrian I like that it's something different, but I'd have little interest in the extras, nevermind that it costs £200 extra. IMO, a pay in advance direct debit ST would be an easy win for the club.

@bradley_steve Or I had a good night? Not sure if going direct would be quicker, assuming they process in order of need. Paramedics should absolutely be allowed to do stitches. Awful waste of resources to have them waiting around. Same with PSNI, who often seem to be there.

@brendyeire Wow - that's swift. We mustv had a bad night😬 Wonder if it would've been quicker if I'd taken me Ma to A&E direct, rather thn via a paramedic? Then again - we only went as he thought she needed a stitch (which he couldn't do). Paramedics shud be allowd to do basic paper stitches

1/ Spent extremely frustrating 11hrs in A&E at Altnagelvin Hospital last night with elderly mother aftr she had fall. A (genuinely very helpful) parademic took her in to have a cut on her head stitched. It thn turned out that stitches weren't actually needed. A few observations🧵

@simongerman600 Even the 6% figure feels over-optimistic, considering a country like the UK, with a first past the post electoral system, is considered a full democracy. Much to be improved upon overall.

Living in a dark blue country is a gift. Defending functioning democratic institutions is a worthy use of your time. Strengthening democracy in the light blue countries is a must too. Establishing a democracy in a light or dark red country is a massive challenge since autocracies use technology to great avail.

@seidodge @DermotMeagher Brandywell pitch is used 35 hours per week. Would love to see it replaced at the end of this year, but lots of legal work needed for that to happen.

Another season long injury with an assist from that pitch in the Brandywell. I know the club have looked into replacing it. Hopefully the council can agree

Per capita vegetable consumption in Europe. Croatians eat six times the amount of vegetables than the Dutch. Dat is pre Ukraine War and production in Ukraine probably fell. Source: buff.ly/3n3bLGv

@ianjamesparsley Hours though, esp by public transport. Eg. for me, in Derry, for a child's 09:30 appointment in RBHSC, it's a 3km walk, 06:12 train, 1km walk/bus. I drive it, others turn it down. I do agree with your point, mind, but distance leads to deaths too. We should be honest about it.

@brendyeire There’s basically no case where you can travel half an hour but not an hour. We all, including the media, need to get beyond the end of street stuff and focus on actual quality of care.

This is a very, very poor headline. It should read: "could see patients treated faster". I've been critical of the Minister but he's absolutely on the right lines here. NI health: Concerns as shake-up could see patients travel further for treatment - BBC News

@EdenGreg @MartinSLewis Cheaper. Electricity providers are limited to a profit of 2.2% (2% for gas). Full public ownership would save us having to pay the 2.2% as well, mind.

@MartinSLewis So without any Energy cap are there energy cost the same as England or cheaper? It would be interesting to see if the cap is actually doing anything to keep bills lower?
