One of my favorite album covers. Neil at a southern California beach with a fin of a caddy. As you know, he loves cars from around the late 50s or early 60s. I saw him driving a late 50s Chevy on Kings Mountain Road while riding my bike. I stopped as he drove by and yelled out, “Neil !” He waved back at me and kept heading down the road.

Or ... partisan in the opposite direction to long institutionalised partisanship. The answer is surely a return to the Reithian principle of absolute non-partisanship for our publicy-funded broadcasters. In their staffing, in their institutional culture, and in their journalistic professionalism. Not least because publicly-funded broadcasters are funded by taxpayers of all political persuasions. And do not somehow exist to "balance" the perceived or real biases, either way, of commercial broadcasters or other media. Not biased to the Left and hardish Left (as the ABC and SBS have been for generations - as PM Bob Hawke noted in the 1980s), nor biased to the centre-Right or Right as claimed regarding some new staff. That a far-Left ideologue, such as yourself, was a longtime ABC staff member surely indicates the longevity and depth of the ABC's entrenched institutional-culture and partisan-bias problems. If the judiciary and ADF can largely respect and practise institutional and professional non-partisanship, so can the ABC and SBS.

Political commentator Greg Sheridan said a couple of years ago that communists had taken over the Australian Labor party. He expanded on this to say the same thing has happened in the UK and the USA (with the Democrats). He was ridiculed by the legacy media commentariat for this claim. Today it is more than obvious that Mr Sheridan's prognostication was deadly accurate. Legacy media will never admit it though because they've been taken over by communists too.
