The cuts are in the administration portion not those providing care. The VA is a bloated bureaucracy. You could make an argument that the government would provide better care for its vets by just providing them access to the plethora of hospitals in this country. This is one of the reasons why out of VA referrals are so popular with vets as they get access to more rapid, efficient care and have choices of providers.
