@SunderjiJB @Swiggy 80% premium crazy, but like it has been pointed out, the menu prices are infact given by the restaurant themselves mostly to recover the commission they pay to both Swiggy n Zomato which is in the tune of 20 to 25%.

@swapniljain89 BMTC bus service is underrated in Bangalore cos it's not 'cool' enough to use them. We definitely need to change this perception cos they are very efficient and the most economical means of transport.
English

For various reasons both my vehicles were parked at office and I had no ride to office.
Tried booking an auto because it is only 4kms, but the price was 175. Heck with it, just decided to take a bus to office at 12 rupees.
This is me protesting against the stupid auto prices.
PS
1. TIL you can pay in bmtc via upi. Helps to not fight back for change
2. Also @switchmobilitye buses are very comfortable. Though acceleration delivery can be bit better. I can understand they have unique problem of how variable load unlike personal vehicles

@arindam___paul Do you also have this dual feature for under sink model?

New product launch alert
The 3 word insight for the water purifier category was “Consumers feel cheated”
When you go deeper, you unravel the silent frustrations that come with it:
•The ₹5000+ you end up paying every year in service and filter changes-irrespective of how much the filters are used
•The back-and-forth with service teams who never show up on time
•The frustration of dealing with a machine that purifies water blindly, regardless of the input water quality. Sometimes you get corporation water, sometime tanker water. Both have different TDS levels. But the RO treats them similarly and your output TDS of the water you drink also varies
•And worst of all, if you stay in places where 90% of the time you get good quality Low TDS water, your RO may actually be removing essential minerals leaving your water too flat, too soft, and too
So we built something
It is India’s first water purifier that checks input TDS levels in real time and basis that and the desired output TDS ( which you can set in the Atomberg Home app), it decides the most optimum filtration path. It has multiple filters and basis input TDS and user preference for output TDS, it optimizes the path
So, what does it mean for you? It means
•If your incoming water has high TDS, it uses RO+UV
•If your water is already in drinkable TDS range, it only uses UF and UV
•Because RO is used only when needed, filter life is significantly extended if your input water quality is better. Even if you end up using RO at all times, the filter life is still at least 2 years, thanks to our appropriately sized filters
•Which means fewer service calls and real savings year after year
•Saves 10000 liters of water every year as compared to a traditional RO purifier (with 25% recovery). That's equivalent to a fully loaded water tanker. Track your savings live in the Atomberg Home app.
No more paying for unnecessary filtration and No more blindly replacing filters every 6-12 months
Launch price of 17999.
2 years of full warranty including everything. And even after that, no AMC or other stupid things. You pay only for what you use. Full transparency of filter life on app
Live on both Atomberg website and Amazon

@TVMohandasPai These guys are the biggest legalized goons in the state holding helpless tourists to ransom.
English

An idiotic article. Govt first responsibility is to citizens, commuters not to a taxi lobby. Citizens have a right to all means of commute. These taxis, have official recognition, do not go by meter and are a law into themselves. They extort money. This stupid article tries to cover up this lawlessness. @DrPramodPSawant @PrinceArihan

You've seen the massive tourist outrage over the Uber ban in Goa. Now read the Goan pov of why the state wants to preserve its local taxi industry and prevent corporate takeover. 👇 scroll.in/article/108347…

Meet the man with 27,500 daughters
That’s what they call him – Appa.
His real name? KP Ramaswamy. Owner of KPR Mills, Coimbatore. A textile baron by profession. A father figure by choice.
While corporate honchos talk about employee retention, cost-cutting, and bottom lines, this man is busy transforming lives.
How? By turning mill workers into graduates. By making education their stepping stone to a better life.
It all started with a simple request. A young girl at his mill once told him –
"Appa, I want to study. My parents pulled me out of school because of poverty, but I want to study further."
That one sentence changed everything.
Instead of giving his workers just a paycheck, he decided to give them a future.
He set up a full-fledged education system – right inside the mill.
📌 Four-hour classes after an eight-hour shift.
📌 Classrooms, teachers, a principal, even a yoga course.
📌 All fully funded. No strings attached.
And the result?
🚀 24,536 women have earned their 10th, 12th, UG, and PG degrees.
🚀 Many are now nurses, teachers, police officers.
🚀 20 gold medallists from Tamil Nadu Open University this year alone.
Now, you’d expect a businessman to worry about attrition. What if these women leave? What about workforce stability?
Here’s what KP Ramaswamy says –
"I don’t want to keep them in the mill and waste their potential. They are here because of poverty, not by choice. My job is to give them a future, not a cage."
And that’s exactly what he does….
They leave. They build careers. And then? They send more girls from their villages to the mill. The cycle continues.
This isn’t just a CSR initiative. This is Human Resource Development in its truest sense.
At a recent convocation, 350 women received their degrees. And KP Ramaswamy made an unusual request –
"If you or your friends can hire them, it will give other girls the hope to study further."
Think about it. A man running a multi-crore empire isn’t asking for business. He’s asking for jobs – for his workers.
How often do we see this?
This story isn’t just about KPR Mills. It’s a lesson in leadership, in corporate ethics, in nation-building.
B-Schools should teach this.
HR professionals should study this.
And the world needs to know this.
A story worth sharing.🙏(source:Unknown)

Breaking News: EPFO to Finally Let You Access Your Own Money! Revolutionary, Right?
In a groundbreaking leap for modern financial freedom, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced that, starting 2025, its 7 crore members will finally be able to withdraw their own hard-earned PF money directly from ATMs. Yes, you heard that right—no more waiting for just 7-10 days for a fraction of your own paycheck to boomerang back to you.
Under this innovative initiative, dubbed EPFO 3.0, members will receive special cards (don’t call them debit cards, it’s more profound than that) to access funds at ATMs. Imagine, you could be standing at an ATM, withdrawing your own savings, and pretending it’s a major milestone in human progress. How thoughtful of them!
But wait, there’s more! In a dazzling display of generosity, the EPFO is also lifting the 12% cap on employee contributions. So now, you can voluntarily contribute even more of your salary to an account that takes months of form-filling, bureaucratic acrobatics, and divine intervention to access. What a time to be alive!
And for the grand finale, they’re considering raising the salary ceiling for PF contributions to ₹21,000. Because, why not make it easier for even more people to experience the privilege of lending their money to a system that treats giving it back like a state secret?
The move has been hailed as a monumental step forward in financial innovation—or as some would call it, “finally letting people access their money like adults.” So, get ready, India! Starting 2025, you’ll be able to press a button, punch in a PIN, and take out the money that was yours to begin with. Truly revolutionary.

Bangalore Autorickshaw is the most uncomfortable mode of transport today. They all have these stupid mats which deprive you of leg space, over inflate their tyres (40 to 45 psi) and almost never go by meter. Is there a solution?

The worst thing about goa besides rampant urbanization are these private Taxi goons. Overprized and lazy buggers who just camp outside hotels and resorts and trouble tourists.
In Goa 24x7@InGoa24x7
#Shocking! Taxi driver stops GoaMiles car with passengers inside, allegedly threaten them to cancel the ride which they paid Rs. 300 & instead take local taxi @ Rs. 1000! #Viral #GoaTourist #GoaBeach #Tourist

@Akshat_World Goa's taxi mafia has been the biggest disappointment for us esp in the South. We have had horrible experiences in the past and now stick to either driving down or renting a cab for the entire duration of our stay.
It's sad that no Govt wants to risk changing/breaking this union
English

INR 2,870Cr is being spent on building Goa's Moppa Airport.
You might say that it would increase the tourism massively. Because a better 'facility' has been built. But, you might be wrong.
See folks, in India people don't like to get into the details of things. For example:-
[1] You will see very few international tourists (except for Russians maybe) who will re-visit Goa.
Compare this to destinations like Thailand, Dubai, they get more repeat tourist.
Why?
[2] Because of ancillary facilities: taxi, connectivity, sensible prices of food, organised activities, stay etc.
People don't travel just to see a shiny new piece of infrastructure. They travel for the overall experience.
And, honestly 0 destinations in India get repeat international tourism at scale.
[3] Problem is: no one gives a crap about doing hard things.
Like actually breaking the taxi union. And, making the price fairer for tourists (so they don't feel ripped off)
Spending public money (or subsidising it for a private player) on building a shiny airport seems like an easier option.
There are enough domestic tourists, who will anyways show up. And, give the impression of growth.
We are 100% fine, landing on a super shiny airport. Booking an overpriced taxi. And, seeing shit along the way.
This is NOT a GOA specific problem. This is an India specific problem.
Go to Shimla, you will see another variant of the same problem.
Change requires doing hard things. But, who would do it?

@sonalchinioti @DGCAIndia @MoCA_GoI @JM_Scindia @IndiGo6E @ndtv @inshorts @aajtak @the_hindu @htTweets @mukeshmukeshs @news18dotcom @FT @DelhiAirport I've faced a similar but less intense experience on an Indigo flight to Blr. They boarded us and made us wait for 2 hours. Initially they didn't reveal the issue but later mentioned that it was due to a pilot who was yet to arrive from another aircraft. We got a snack bag though.

.@DGCAIndia @MoCA_GoI @JM_Scindia @IndiGo6E I don't support violence, but the airline took advantage and hid all their mismanagement and mistakes in lieu of what the passenger did. Below is a first-hand account of the incident. #DelhiAirport #Indigoairlines #Indigo
