I couldn’t be more proud of Yo Maps. Shameful for the Zambian Association of Musicians for attempting to suppress— instead of defending—artistic freedom under the guise of cultural values. What values? ZAM and others could be more useful in lending their efforts in fighting corruption in the country.

@Mwebantu You breathe fire on someone's neck just because of a music video, and yet you allow Netflix to turn your kids into wei*dos. Laughable 🤣

I wasn’t driving tonight but there were no Yango’s heading home😬. Then I remembered that before Ulendo & Yango, Crossroads taxi drivers took me home perfectly no matter the time. I got home safely 😊. The best part is they know the area, even mention who your neighbors might be and they get you home safely 🙏🏾 no matter the time

The US highlights our flaws when we resist, and ignores them when we comply. Yes, corruption is real, we need more fair, consistent arrests like the recent K192m case. But we don’t trade sovereignty for silence. We fix our own problems. We stay grounded. Stand firm🇿🇲

The Judiciary is so underfunded. Some districts have only one Magistrate & a ramshackle of a court house. The accused are punished before conviction coz of how long cases take. What does gov do - table a law to build houses for retired Chief Justices. OK politicians delela us😮

@HonMushimba Do you even have the moral right to comment on such an issue having been part of a gvt that once oversaw the loot being talked about?

The UPND govt have officially become part of our long list of problems we have in this country. The remarks by outgoing ambassador Gonzales require our collective outrage & demand answers. $4B per year in corruption is a huge betray of the confidence of the people!

@briansimasiku The response from the President needs to be carefully measured. We know their game. The middle east war has exposed their lies and people are now awake to their schemes...#Zambia is a Sovereign State

See how they hate it when you don’t align and they feel you’re standing in their way. But the beauty of being a sovereign state is that you get to decide your destiny on your own terms, not some diplomat with strong opinions. No outsider should prescribe how we should govern ourselves, or how we should feel about those we elect to govern us. For the record, I’m not entirely dismissing the concerns raised. But these are not new to us; they are legacy issues we are already confronting as a country. We know exactly how we got here, and we are not clueless about what needs fixing. What I completely reject is the idea that someone from outside can come and lecture us, especially on issues like justice and incarceration, as though we don’t understand our own system. We have a judiciary, we have oversight systems, we have a state that functions, even as we continue to improve it. We will fix our challenges, but on our own terms. That’s what sovereignty means.

We don't condone corruption, those who commit such acts must face the full wrath of the law. But it's not acceptable for a departing diplomat to insult us. In US there is healthcare fraud running into billions. Our diplomats never behaved in such undiplomatic manner in condemning the fraud. The US health care deal is hereby rejected!!!

The speech by the outgoing US ambassador to Zambia makes sad reading. It took a lot of personal conviction to make such direct & difficult speech. It needs serious reflection by us citizens on the state of affairs. The current administration must introspect its governance model
