On the evidence of this game and despite them looking like Real Madrid, not sure Curaçao will advance too far in the WC… #AUSvCUW

Winning breeds confidence and that’s something #NFFC’s talented players have been missing for a lot of the season, so with that in mind I think Pereria goes pretty strong for the first leg against Midtjylland even with a massive game to come at the weekend. Sels Aina, Milenkovic, Cunha, Williams Anderson, Sangare Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi Jesus Then bring Murillo back in for Fulham, potentially with Hutchinson coming in for that one as well. Jesus is probably going to have to start the next four games but Awoniyi can come on and play half an hour in the league with Lucca coming on to finish games in Europe to rest him that way. and without wanting to look too far ahead if they can get themselves into a strong position on Thursday, as they did away at Fenerbahce, then it does give them more options for the second leg ahead of another huge game at Spurs. They’ve proven that making wholesale changes doesn’t work but the squad players will have a role to play, making a couple of changes here and there and using the bench earlier should that we can balance the squad through the run in. The league is clearly the priority but these European games shouldn’t be thrown away just yet, we should be able to beat Midtjylland, and Porto or Stuttgart over two legs before one of the big boys comes to town in the latter stages. We could go into the international break in a much more comfortable league position, and it would be a shame to end the season wondering what could have been in Europe, let’s go out swinging.

@IFM_Economist Shouldn’t we be aiming to increase labour supply? Widespread skill shortages have an inflationary effect (eg construction). There’s an assumption we’re at capacity but our labour force participation is below OECD ave. Not easy to quickly change but key way to ease pressure

“Holding on to gains” in the labour market simply means inflation risks being higher for longer. Higher inflation is the cost of holding on to these gains. Of course we could hold on to labour market gains more easily if labour supply growth slowed.
Alex Joiner 🇦🇺@IFM_Economist

The RBA's forecasts. Growth a bit better near term, led by households but this fades. The unemployment rate to rise to 4.6%. Inflation entering the band in 2027 but not getting to the midpoint until 2028

@DaveHo1mes We had a window to make the step up for a manager like Glasner and blew it. I’d imagine MGW, Murillo and Anderson all leave in offseason. It’s surprising to me too how many ppl feel sure we’ll stay up. 7 pts break is handy but all it takes is a 3 game winning streak to close ..

It’s not going to be pretty but Dyche will keep #NFFC up this season, and with what he walked into that’s all that we could have reasonably expected. The club needs to have a clear plan for the summer and going all in on Glasner should be part of that.

🚨🔴🔵 BREAKING: Oliver Glasner confirms he will LEAVE Crystal Palace in June, NOT signing a new deal at the club. “I already informed the club months ago that I wanted a NEW CHALLENGE”. 💣 Exclusive story since December, confirmed.

@wt_analysis Incredibly lucky. I see ppl talking about next summer as if we’re already safe. If we keep approaching games same way (& there’s no sign of an alternative) it’s hard to see how we score the goals to get the pts. W/ham could sack nuno, get a new manager bounce, win a few games …

Thoughts on #NFFC tonight. Relief. Pure relief. We can all moan about performances, the only thing that really mattered tonight was the result and Forest somehow got exactly what they needed. I thought the first 10 minutes was pretty positive, especially considering what we've seen recently, but after the goal this fragile side seemed to lose what little confidence they had. It wasn't quite Everton level of poor crosses, but still going 1 for 14 in open play in the first 45 was really poor. At least tonight at times they worked the ball back from crossing areas to shooting areas, forcing one great save and hitting the bar too. The West Ham goal is poor from a Forest point of view - Hutchinson does well to win back the ball but then poorly gives away a corner. Igor Jesus (and maybe a couple of others) need to do better to make first contact. West Ham thought they had a second after poor play from Bakwa resulted in a counter attack Forest never dealt with. Forest were fortunate in being the beneficiary of a tight offside call, and it did seem to have different effects on both sides. Dominguez scored a goal from a flick on - he had a brilliant night even before the goal, for me he was easily Forest's man of the match. Forest remained in the ascendency for the next 10 or 15 minutes, until Nuno made some subs. Dyche's reluctance to use this squad keeps putting his 11 under pressure, and Forest were probably fortunate that West Ham were too poor to take advantage. It's also a fortunate but clear penalty on Gibbs-White, there's no intent at all to foul from Areola but you can't punch an attacker in the head and be nowhere near the ball. Forest closed out the game well, West Ham had no attempts on goal. 7 points is a huge gap but this team cannot get some complacent, there must be significant improvements made by the players and the coaching staff over the coming weeks.

@PaulDennett_ The character of Australian pitches has been very consistent over a long time and different in character bw venues - unlike England who prepared a collection of subcontinental style pitches when Mitchell Johnson turned up a few series back

Let’s clear this up. In the 23/24 stand out season at Villa, he played in 53 games, averaging 82 mins per game. The season before (without Europe) played 40 games at 80 mins per game. He’s fine unless suddenly this has suddenly become a problem and his body changed. #NFFC

For this reason, the Juventus medical team has designed an extremely cautious plan for Douglas, in which possible appearances on the field will alternate with periods of recovery and treatments (@tuttosport )

This is massive for One Nation and if this held it would be their best-ever federal election result It puts them in serious contention to win the final Senate seat in every state – and IMO even keeps them in the running with an outside chance in the seat of Hunter

Labor has edged ahead of the Coalition’s primary vote in the latest YouGov poll, while One Nation has risen by 3.5% YouGov has changed methodology so voters choose from candidates who appear on the ballot in their seat – 62 seats don’t have an independent, explaining the 4% drop

In 2022, women abandoned the Coalition in significant numbers. Professional women turned to the Teals, while outer-urban and regional women shifted toward minor parties. There was also a modest movement of Liberal-leaning women toward Labor. Have these women returned? Unlikely. The Coalition remains stuck in the 49 to 51% two-party-preferred range, suggesting little recovery among these voters. However, the Coalition appears to be making inroads with some younger men and, to a lesser extent, Millennial mothers in outer suburbs and regional areas. Btw, none of this is enough to get to 76 seats.
