Today, on Good Friday, we mark a day of sacrifice. Some New Yorkers will abstain from eating; others will spend hours without speaking.
Faith, the Bible tells us, is belief in the things unseen. That belief is what will guide so many of our neighbors in solemn reflection and reverence.

For my out-of-town followers-Let’s be clear: there are 4 separate scandals here in NYC:
1. Duwaji, the Mayor’s wife, working for an impassioned Jew hater during a mayoral campaign, during which her husband claimed he’d protect Jews.
2. Mamdani essentially lying about his family’s ties to said Jew hater.
3. @LevineJonathan’s masterful expose (x-pose-a) of Duwaji’s history of racist and antisemitic social media posts.
4. Duwaji deleting her accounts.

The explosives yesterday near Gracie Mansion were not thrown by the Islamophobic protestors, but by their counter-protesters. Violence is utterly unacceptable, wherever it comes from. I’m glad the individuals responsible are in custody and they should be held accountable under the law.
The NYPD officers on the scene deserve tremendous credit for getting a very dangerous situation under control. It’s a miracle that there wasn’t grave bodily harm to anyone present.
I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions and posting too soon. But I’m not sorry for hating Islamophobia as much as I hate antisemitism.

Yesterday, white supremacist Jake Lang organized a protest outside Gracie Mansion rooted in bigotry and racism. Such hate has no place in New York City. It is an affront to our city’s values and the unity that defines who we are. What followed was even more disturbing. Violence at a protest is never acceptable. The attempt to use an explosive device and hurt others is not only criminal, it is reprehensible and the antithesis of who we are. I want to thank the brave men and women of the NYPD who acted quickly to keep New Yorkers safe. Our officers ran toward danger without hesitation, demonstrating once again the courage and dedication it takes to protect this city every single day. My administration is closely monitoring the situation and I remain in close contact with our Police Commissioner.
