Diplomatic efforts for peaceful settlement of the ongoing war in the Middle East are progressing steadily, strongly and powerfully with the potential to lead to substantive results in near future. To allow diplomacy to run its course, I earnestly request President Trump to extend the deadline for two weeks. Pakistan, in all sincerity, requests the Iranian brothers to open Strait of Hormuz for a corresponding period of two weeks as a goodwill gesture. We also urge all warring parties to observe a ceasefire everywhere for two weeks to allow diplomacy to achieve conclusive termination of war, in the interest of long-term peace and stability in the region. @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @SecRubio @SteveWitkoff @SEPeaceMissions @drpezeshkian @mb_ghalibaf @araghchi

Oh, this is unbelievable. The edit history on this tweet shows that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif originally copied and pasted everything he was sent, including: "*Draft - Pakistan's PM Message on X*" Now, obviously, Sharif's own staff don't call him "Pakistan's PM," they would just call him prime minister. The U.S. and Israel, of course, would call him "Pakistan's PM." Would be funny if the fate of the world wasn't hanging in the balance.

How do I stop a child from stealing? She’s just 6 years old, but she steals like an expert, covers her tracks perfectly, and denies it with teary eyes so much that you start to feel bad for her and even second-guess yourself as an adult.

Shehbaz Sharif arriving to stop World War 3:

Reposting this. Pakistan's position in this conflict is the product of a rare and unrepeatable combination: a Muslim-majority nuclear state with a Shia minority large enough to give Iran cultural stakes, a Sunni majority large enough to give the Gulf states political comfort, a border with Iran, a defence pact with Saudi Arabia, a strategic partnership with China that Tehran values, a warming with Washington that Tehran cannot afford to antagonise, no American military bases on its soil, a military that proved itself in live combat less than a year ago, a competent political leadership and a foreign minister who has grown into the moment, and a diplomatic tradition of studied neutrality that every party in this conflict has at various points relied upon.

China brokered the ceasefire deal and pushed Iran, as Trump confirmed to AFP, while Pakistan merely acted as a channel. Pakistan isn’t the peacemaker it now claims to be and, as always, is taking credit for something it didn’t deliver.
