Shame on you @tuiuk. A day before our holiday and my wife is non-responsive in hospital. Kids distressed and despite medical evidence we were told the only option is to pay the full cost again to rebook. No compassion, no flexibility. At a time like this, families deserve better.

@chrisma5on @TUIUK My wife is in hospital. She is my focus but clearly, I have had to deal with cancellations etc. of what would have been a family holiday. So no, not really a bender and certainly not my main priority, but thanks for your concern…

@bucksvizzy @TUIUK Yeah your travel insurance will sort that out not Tui, and if your mrs is non responsive in hospital you’ve more important things to concern yourself with other than rearranging that all inclusive bender in Benidorm 🤷🏻♂️

@bucksvizzy @TUIUK So zero need to contact TUI then & slate them. Your first & only point of call is the insurance you claim to have. Zero to do with TUI at all & all on the insurance you took. Bit like contacting Mazda if you had an accident with a Mazda car as opposed to contacting insurance…..

@bucksvizzy @TUIUK Tui were very helpful to myself when my Fiance passed away.
They had compassion to myself when I didn't take out insurance until I knew what was happening to my Fiance.

Just to clarify… we do have travel insurance. That’s not the point. The point is how some travel companies respond to exceptional, medically evidenced situations like this, where a loved one is hospitalised. This is about compassion and flexibility, not whether insurance exists.

@millarddvd @TUIUK We do have insurance. That’s not my point. My wife is seriously unwell in hospital. This is about how companies respond to exceptional, real-life situations. A bit of understanding and empathy wouldn’t go amiss based on my experience with @TUIUK today.

Finally on the 18:54 from kingsX to Cambridge. Yes, last-minute platform announcements and @gnrailuk cancelling the last train are frustrating… but the pushing, shoving and swearing from fellow commuters is worse. Shamefully embarrassing.
