what is just endlessly fascinating about destiel is that there was such a noticeable tug of war happening behind the scenes of the show between those who wanted it to be platonic, those who wrote it a little gay for laughs, and those who wrote it as explicitly romantic.

@deanpurin Misha ate it up as Casifer. He really excelled every time he got to play a different version of himself (Jimmy, Lucifer, Endverse Cas, Apocalypse World Cas, etc.). I know the writers were excited every time they had an excuse to make Misha do something out of the box.
