@NigelForrester9 @maxtempers Why do you read my posts on Bluesky exactly
English

@maxtempers Wow — you’re really organised. You faked these posts from an entire year ago! What a rascal! @buffetfiend
English

@KarnerStrateg @dieworkwear Bernhard Roetzel wrote about them in vague terms here permanentstyle.com/2024/11/the-un… the TLDR seems to be if you're in Vienna Maftei is a better bet for bespoke
English

Bespoke shoemakers I admire:
— Nicholas Templeman: Former lastmaker at John Lobb. Very English style; now lives in Canada. IG nicholastemplemanltd
— Seiji McCarthy: Studied shoemaking under Hiro Yanagimachi in Japan. Elevated Alden style. IG seijimccarthy
— Emiko Matsuda: Former lastmaker at Foster & Son. Trained under the legendary Terry Moore, who worked at Peal & Co, one of the most famous 20th century bespoke shoemaking firms. IG emiko.matsuda
— Graham Ebner: Trained at Texas Traditions. Cowboy boots baby! The decorated tops are designed in conjunction with the client. IG grahamebnerboots

@GuKoller @dieworkwear Canons by the way is a phoenix of the old West End maker Foster and Son. The company went bust but all of the staff etc went to Canons
English

@dieworkwear Simon Bolzoni at Canons Bespoke has been amazing to work with, love my beautiful loafers and oxfords from him

@NigelForrester9 Have to say that isn't my experience of Civil Service from friends. PR I kind of accept, but surely that would have to be quite high end recruitment to get those numbers
English

@buffetfiend Friends working as civil servants, in recruitment, in (a well-paid subsection of) PR, all have better pay scaling than this
English

@NigelForrester9 Tech has a premium on this but not not much
English

@NigelForrester9 I have to say I don't think I follow your argument. Honestly wages are so low in Britain I'm not sure there is any sector barring MC law and IB where salaries are routinely much better than that, certainly not across the whole profession,
English

Really because you were a Special Advisor to multiple ministers in the last government
James Price@jamespriceglos
@Jo_Marney @Nigel_Farage I suspect we are in agreement on the Labour Party being very bad. But “my boys” haven’t really been in power since 1991.

@TypeForVictory Very sorry to hear this and sending all good wishes

Hi all - a few of you noticed I've been gone a little while.
On the 16th of March, I got back to the UK to the devastating news that Mum's suspected cancer was advanced. Only 4-5 weeks ago, she seemed in fantastic health, and now we fear we may have only a few days left.
I have spent most of the time since with her and my dad, breaking the news to family, and helping her sort her affairs.
Last Tuesday, I was able to spend the afternoon chatting with her, looking through photos, laughing about dating, sharing stories and memories. Last Wednesday one of my best friends came with me and we sat and talked and laughed with her. A priest came to deliver the anointing, and we prayed with her as she took communion.
As horrendous as it is, I feel so blessed to have had that chance to tell her how much I love her, to share bits of my life with her, and to hold her hand - a privilege afforded to so few. Her bravery has humbled me, and she has approached it with grace and calm.
The grief has been strange, with long periods of apparent normality punctuated by floods of emotion. The exhaustion is overwhelming - at times I've barely felt able to stand or speak.
We've been supported by the astonishing Pilgrims Hospice, and hope a bed will come available for her where she can be better supported, but capacity is sadly limited.
I don't know what the next few days or weeks will bring. I've been supported by the most wonderful friends anyone could ask for, but it has been one of the hardest experiences of my life.
I would ask gently for your prayers for her and my father, and apologise in advance if I seem quick tempered or unusually sharp. This site has morphed to thrive on anger and hatred, but I know there remains a good core of caring, wonderful people.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and continues to do so.

You are a useless privileged idiot who has spent his whole life in worthless sinecures. You have nothing at all to contribute here or anywhere so for once in your life shut up.
Fred de Fossard@defossardf
Making these arguments does not make one unpatriotic, as some blind MPs are saying. Quite the opposite. Britain is a great country and Europe is a great civilisation. Both boast amazing people, but both are badly led. I'd rather start rebuilding now than remain in denial.
English

@btharris93 @danwaterfield Can't think of anything more Yookay than a white nationalist account run by a mentally ill Lebanese diasporoid
English

@danwaterfield I loathe that account. The guy that runs it is a pretty unambiguous white nationalist.
English

What, in upstate New York?
Tom Jones@93vintagejones
You best start believing in millet systems. You’re living in one.
English

@danielmcelroy0 Ok fine the deal is now definitely dead
English

The Yookay Aesthetics has been particularly fascinating as its pretty clear Dupka Kunley's understanding of how the UK "works" is pretty nonsensical, like he genuinely thought people were going to sneer at Pro-Hong Kong Independence demonstrations.
Leman Walters@LemanWalters
Pointless bigotry
English

@sam_bidwell Not really no. I'm not the one who holds a made up job at a dieing think tank.
