@CanadiensEh Based on what we heard about Seattle (offering Panarin 14M) if Tuch hits the market, I'd guess they would offer him a stupid amount which I would not want the habs to match

Alex Tuch and a 2C would be a major refresh to the top-6. Would need to move a lot of money out, not sure that’s the play. He didn’t score against Montreal but he was very effective in round 1.

@jkamckenzie @reporterchris @sdpnsports Who's to blame for the 15:01 submitted Knies trade? Considering the Leafs barely squeaked in the Laughton trade, I'm assuming they were late to send it in?

Kelly McCrimmon telling Toronto fans to "get over it" while taking out of his day to come on a Toronto radio station, as his team is about to play in the Final is objectively very funny Too busy to think about Bruce Cassidy mid playoffs. Not too busy to think about Toronto.

@NHLRumourReport I don't know how high-end player is defined here but I feel like that's what Kyrou is. They want a top prospect and a first on top?

@XGF999 @DcalabrettaTFP The Avalanche are one of the most dominant team in recent history and could end up being 8 wins short of the cup. So much randomness in hockey, running into a hot goalie, injuries to key players and so on

@DcalabrettaTFP Why? Who’s getting better, faster than the Canadiens? Although luck will always play a part, they’re getting much better in the next couple years. Not a little bit better.

Hot take: This year may be Montreal’s best chance at winning a Stanley Cup throughout their whole contention window, and I’m not discrediting how much better they will be in the future.

@the_habitant @wetalkhockeyy Slavin is good but he has insane PR. He was amazing at 4 nations but been a lot worse this year and people are talking as if he maintained that 4 nations level

@paultanasi MSL has issues with Xhekaj. I don’t know why. Big physical defensemen. He was built for playoff hockey.

That was perhaps the most impressive overall game by Kaiden Guhle in the playoffs/season.of 2025-2026. His rush defence was going to be crucial for Montreal, but he was a horse for them tonight.

Stretch pass from Guhle to Caufield, who springs Slafkovsky. That's two five-on-five goals for MTL's top line. Slafkovsky undressed Svechnikov. 5-3.

@angelomole11 @DrakeMT learn the rules, you can't pitchfork a puck from under a goalies' pads. Had there been no whistle, would have been ruled no goal for goalie interference

@DrakeMT you keep saying it was jarred loose like that’s not allowed before the whistle. No whistle means puck is in play, assumedly behind the goalie. The whistle stopped the play early, but it’s not the refs fault for losing sight of it. It’s unfortunate but not a conspiracy

Are you referring to the play where Dobes had the puck already, and it was jarred loose by him getting whacked with possession? Yeah, that's not a goal.
Joseph Scanlon@scoeyjan

@DrakeMT Except the whistle on an obvious loose puck goal. Yeah. Other than that

@ProducerDrew_ Sabres fans really outed themselves as non-puck knowers calling that a distinct kicking motion. You could make a compilation of a ton of goals off of skates that were allowed and looked much worse

This angle it definitely looks like Greenway taps this, but the quick whistle means we never find out. With goaltender interference being what it is in the NHL, I don’t know that this gets called off. If that puck’s just sitting between his legs there’s a case to be made.
Sneaky Joe@SneakyJoeSports

I really don't think the Malenstyn quick whistle matters to the end result. If he doesn't blow the whistle, how isn't this getting overturned on goalie interference? The puck is covered.

@MichaelPadak @wDandyy @OwenP29 That type of situation is the easiest interference call, always called that way, can't jam it out from under the goalies' pads

@wDandyy @OwenP29 Greenway is playing til the whistle which doesn’t blow til the puck is loose. I’m just saying there’s a chance it would have been no interference cause Greenway doesn’t push him and the puck toward the net

So we have Tage Thompson who tried to toe drag when he should’ve passed it to Zach Benson who appears to have been wide open here in OT, and then we had Jason Zucker who was wide open in front of the net earlier in the game but decided to pass up the open shot, trying to make the extra pass that Tage should’ve made. Plus I still don’t understand why the officials blew the whistle so early on what would’ve been a go-ahead goal from Beck Malenstyn. So many levels of pain. #LetsGoBuffalo

Lane Hutson currently leads the Canadiens in scoring through two rounds with 14 points. This while being their most stable piece on defence so far. His new deal, a friendly 8x8.85M contract, only kicks in July 1.
