I rode a tank, held a general's rank. When blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank.

The French Marxist theorist, filmmaker, and professional troublemaker who led the Situationist International and wrote The Society of the Spectacle (1967) would see motorcycles flipping in front of the White House for what they are: not rebellion, but the spectacle flattering itself...a high-octane screensaver for a Herrenvolk democracy. The riders risk their necks so cameras can mine clips; the crowd risks nothing and calls it participation, mistaking adrenaline for agency. Power is so relaxed it stages "danger" at its own front door and sells it back as freedom, merch, and content. You walk away with a video instead of improved material conditions, convinced you've seen subversion when all you've really seen is how completely even your urge to rebel has been neutered. This is the movie they show on the Ship of Fools as you literally sail into your misery and destuction...Enjoy.

Does a man running two of the biggest companies on Earth simultaneously "deserve" to be wealthy? Probably. Does he "deserve" to be a trillionaire? Idk how about we focus on the fact that the currency is fucking worthless and that's partly how the number got so big to begin with.

No, it’s not “Pride Month.” Not for me, and not for millions of others. You’re welcome to be proud of whatever you want, in any month you like—because this is America. But what started in 1969 as a rebellion against persecution, morphed into a license for public depravity, and then morphed again into a weapon aimed at families and innocent children. Along the way it went from a day, to a week, and then a month and became official, and thereby effectively mandatory for all. Enough! If you’re gay and wondering why you are facing resistance now, the answer is that, with few exceptions, most of you didn’t stand up against the expansion and weaponization of “pride,” and the coercion that went with it. In that failure to resist, the gay community compromised any expectation that the rest of us should support “pride” at all, but especially the obscene display of hostility toward civilization and the families of which it is built, and for whom it exists. If your hackles are raised by the idea that civilization is about families, realize that families are how civilizations persist through time. Not everyone needs to form one, but we all must respect and protect them—It is the foundation of what it means to be civilized. For the small fraction of gays and lesbians who DID courageously stand up and resist expansion, coercion and the weaponization of “Pride,” I stand with you, and I have all along. But I won’t be celebrating, and I won’t be silent. It’s not too late to join the voices of reason and to confront the insanity of what “pride” has become.

@LoftusSteve What I find amazing is that SpaceX has done everything that it has done with say $10b - $15b. It just got a $75b cash injection. Imagine what it will do...

“Bernie, your socialism would never allow a SpaceX to be built.” Hey Bill, who got man to the moon? Was it the government or the private sector?
Bill Ackman@BillAckman

.@BernieSanders , it is a time to celebrate. @elonmusk has created enormous value for society by building @SpaceX, driving down the cost of rocket launches and creating a global satellite communication network that has brought high speed, low-cost internet and communication access to hundreds of millions and eventually billions of people along with critical advantages for our military and our nation’s defense. SpaceX and its technologies will cause an acceleration in the growth of wages and wealth creation globally, including in some of the poorest communities in the U.S. and around the world. Access to low-cost, high speed communications everywhere will allow children around the world to be educated, families to build businesses, and life-saving medical knowledge and care to be available everywhere. SpaceX will materially bring down the cost of compute, advancing AI and humanity. Meanwhile, 4,000 SpaceX employees yesterday became millionaires, including hourly wage employees who you claim you are trying to help. The Elon Musks of the world drive growth, global GDP, and provide access to goods and services at lower cost that would otherwise not exist. Elon’s nominal trillionaire status is due to his ownership of SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, the Boring Company and his other initiatives that have brought new technologies that improve our everyday lives. Elon is not sitting on a trillion dollar pile of cash, jewelry and gold. He is using his controlling stakes in his companies to advance mankind. Elon’s companies don’t pay dividends. They reinvest all of their capital to accelerate innovation and value creation. Elon is working 24/7 for all of us. He deserves respect and appreciation, not smears. Bernie, your socialism would never allow a SpaceX to be built. Socialism has only proven to impoverish mankind and lead to death and destruction. We need to create the conditions for more SpaceXs to be built, not attack the great entrepreneurs who are helping to advance our country.

Im not saying im not sympathetic towards people, but if you haven't managed to save a dime for 37 years, whos at fault? If Elon wasn't a trillionnaire, you'd still be broke. Whether someone else has more money than you has absolutely nothing to do with your financial situation. Its your life, your choices.

Personally, I’m not impressed by Elon Musk becoming the first “trillionaire”. He was born into wealth, attended private schooling and never had to worry about saving or putting a roof over his head. The freedom to fail and take a risk was a luxury given to him on a plate.

Again the flip flopping of the tech right on this has been hilarious to watch and also completely predictable.
Honestly with Bari Weiss@thehonestlypod

Marc Andreessen (@pmarca) says he attended “absolutely horrifying” meetings where Biden’s government vowed to take “complete control” over AI technology: “They basically said AI is going to be a game of 2 or 3 big companies working closely with the government… We’re going to protect them from competition, control them, and dictate what they do.” When Marc countered that this would be impossible—the math behind AI is taught everywhere—they responded, “During the Cold War, we classified entire areas of physics and took them out of the research community—entire branches of physics went dark and didn’t proceed. If we decide we need to, we’re going to do the same thing to the math underneath AI.” Listen to his full interview with @BariWeiss: thefp.pub/4g6Cjkx

I need to ask about gas prices. I paid $3.27 a gallon at Buc-ee’s. Is that considered a good price? For a comparison I’ve worked out the average price back home in the UK is $7.24 a gallon…
