Bear in mind that the Catholics praying in Latin that Biden’s FBI investigated were the SSPX chapel in Richmond: as a look-down-your-noser on whatever you think ‘rad trads’ are, ask yourself which side you’re really on there. Especially as you Announce Your Departure from the Trump Train.

Never forget what the Biden Administration did to Catholics who prayed in Latin. The Biden FBI labelled them as terrorists and subjected them to nationwide investigation. THIS is what happens when you give the Democrats power. Remember that in November.

@MarcelLeJeune UN/NGOspeak with Bible sprinkles on top is—amazingly—not Catholic just because Leo 14 says it instead of Randi Weingarten or Eric Swalwell.

When your worldview is USA politics, you only see things in a binary manner. 🔵or🔴. When your worldview is Catholic, you try to see things through the eyes of Jesus. The Pope is Catholic. SURPRISE! He doesn't think like an American politician. ANY of them, including Trump.

@holysmoke Who’s likelier to call for a crusade to liberate Europe from the muslim invaders, the twenty-first century NGO pope whose long-dead predecessors called for crusades and wielded armies, or this president longnosedly sniffed at by Catholic public innerlecks like Ed and Robbie?

The last thing I would call Pope Leo is weak. He prodded the bear and the expression on his face suggests he’s not too distressed by the outcome.
Anthony@4NH0NY

@Eufrosnia @FeserEdward @holysmoke We should absolutely focus on his character. If you, a Catholic aren’t concerned he called the Pope “weak” (which is pretty unfair concerning Trump is weak on Pro-life policies) at least be concerned Trump attacked Christ by pretending to look like him in a post.

@bonchieredstate Trump’s biggest opponent is Senators from Iowa and South Dakota, so the Leo thing will be exactly as news-cycle-y by November as the invasion of Venezuela is every single day now in mid-April.

Catholics are the most politically split major demographic of Christianity in America. That means they can and do shift elections. Going to war with the pope, no matter how wrong you may think he is, is just really, really stupid right before the midterms.

@CatholicArena ‘…but the US should allow its court system to be even more clogged….’ Anybody can rip a pull quote from Schumer or Pelosi where they claim they don’t actually hate America, but ducks still quack and you cannot find a Leo pull quote that sounds like an ordinary nonleftist pol.

Clacking shrews desperate to have Democrats giving them back the billions of working-class tax dollars to bring millions of muslim invaders to the US: plus here’s an out of context bobble quote just like our fundamentalist sistren an brethrens do! Stop being an Uncle Ted NGO and take up the cross of the un-pullquoted Gospel again.

“I am disheartened that the President chose to write such disparaging words about the Holy Father. Pope Leo is not his rival; nor is the Pope a politician. He is the Vicar of Christ who speaks from the truth of the Gospel and for the care of souls.” - Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, President, USCCB @ArchbishopOKC

It’s okay for presidents to return the criticism of huge multibillion dollar NGOs. The pope can stop being a leftist NGO pol and resume the teaching office of the Church any moment he wants.

On one side, you have a fearless world leader who dedicated years of his life serving the poorest of the poor, who espouses true American virtue, will forever be the most impressive man the USA ever produced. On the other hand, you have a pedophile-protecting compromised liberal who flooded our country with third-world migrants and shut down churches during COVID. Tough call, but I’ll go with the first one (Pope Leo XIV)

If your bishop has ever publicly consoled the grieving family of the victim of a criminal illegal alien, please be so kind as to mention it in the replies below. Dozens of Catholic bishops made public statements, even pastorals, about the death of George Floyd, who died of a massive drug overdose six years ago. I wrote many of them asking if they had ever done the same for grieving Angel Moms and other loved ones of the countless innocent victims of illegal criminals. None replied. Why the silence? Pray for our bishops.
Homeland Security@DHSgov

“Sanctuary policies are supposed to be about compassion. It appears that ‘sanctuary’ and ‘compassion’ are only for illegal immigrants, not for the actual law-abiding citizens of America.” —Angel Mom Jennifer Bos When sanctuary policies failed her, ICE was there to support Jennifer Bos after her daughter Megan’s body was found abused at the house of an illegal alien. The Trump administration and @ICEgov will ALWAYS stand with our Angel families. They are our why. washingtonexaminer.com/op-eds/4524042…

@OurFriendGenie @Pontifex Ah, the idle rich. Who are these? The leftists who married Steve Jobs or Sam Walton’s boy and now spend their inherited unmerited billions on leftist insanity? These, explicitly, are who you believe Pope Leo should confiscate wealth from?

@burningland @Pontifex I don’t know if you’re familiar with Christianity, David, but it calls everyone, rich and poor, to responsibility. The idle rich who hoard unjustly sin; the able-bodied who refuse honest work also sin. The Gospel prioritizes mercy for the genuinely needy and condemns indifference

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

I remember when ol’ Fr L here was still pals with Mark Shea while Mark was merely an ever-inflating pusbag of hate, and decent people would be scandalised by Shea’s insane tirades. ‘Toughen up, buttercup!’ was Fr L’s advice, the internet is rough an’ tumble! Shea is no Leo, but the in-group kiss up/kick down character remains.

Pope speaks out against war and in favor of helping the poor and Christian American right wingers throw stones. I'm standing with the Pope.
