Really sickening to come across this fly-tipping on a quiet country road. Must've been quite a party! All of this should be in the recycling bin! Will have to bring binbags & clear it up. #litter On the positive side, I found Garlic mustard plants which have gone to seed!

This year no problems, the seedlings do grow v slowly though! #wildflowers

Listening to 2 long eared owl fledglings nearby last night when an adult flew 2ft over my head into the big hedge. No roosting birds caught it, sat on the hedge for a bit and flew off over my head again. Wow #owls #gardening @UlsterWildlife @Irishwildlife @BirdWatchIE @RSPBNI

@AntrimLens Thanks for that, i thought they had accidentally been imported with hay from England into the South and were making their own way up. Why were they being released up here? By folks wanting to help the barn owls?

@bustaseed1 Yes, bank voles are here. I 1st spotted them on cameras I had on a BO nest site back in 2017, voles were regularly being brought in & also from pellet dissection I found lots of Vole skulls. Turned out that people were releasing them on the Crumlin, Glenavy rivers & Lough Neagh

Spot the Barn Owl 😍 farmers were cutting the silage last night so I couldn't get a great audio recording but definitely picked up the calls of at least two Owlets from this box. There has never been owlets at this nest box before so we're a bit excited 😆

@bustaseed1 When owls take up at a site for the 1st time they can be spooked quite easily and abandon it so I won't be going near it.
