A "$200 certification" and there is a way to get it for free.
I recently cleared the '@databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate' exam and realized just how limited the preparation material is out there. So I put together a study guide covering everything from the 6 exam domains to the exact resources I used; including a method to book the exam at no cost through the official Databricks Academy pathway.
If you are looking to validate your GenAI engineering skills on Databricks, this blog post is the starting point I wish I had.

If you have been feeling the pain with GitHub Actions' Runners lately, you are not alone. Over the past couple of months, there have been some notable incidents and if your pipelines are blocking every time there's a hiccup, a self-hosted runner is worth considering.
GitHub has been transparent about these issues and is actively working on fixes and that's appreciated. But it's still worth thinking about resilience.
One approach worth considering: self-hosted runners.
I wrote a step-by-step guide covering exactly how to set this up 👇
@busycaesar/configure-self-hosted-runner-for-github-actions-aa9acf6b3d2d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@busycaesar/co…
If you would like more control over your CI/CD, GitHub Actions also supports self-hosted runners; where you run jobs on your own server or cloud alongside the hosted ones. The setup is simpler than it sounds, a few commands and you are listening for the jobs.
Beyond reliability, the benefits are real:
✅ More control over your environment
✅ Pre-installed dependencies, no repeated downloads
✅ Lower latency if your runner is close to your infrastructure
✅ Cost savings using reserved or spot instances
✅ Keeps sensitive data within your own network
Not saying replace GitHub Actions Runners, it's still a great platform. But in certain setups, a self-hosted runner is genuinely worth trying and it doesn't hurt that when GitHub's hosted runners have a rough day, yours keeps running.

Excited to have spoken at *AgentCon - Toronto* this weekend!
My session, “The Math Behind RAG: Demystifying Embeddings and Cosine Similarity,” focused on helping developers understand what actually happens under the hood of Retrieval-Augmented Generation instead of treating it as a black box.
We built a live RAG pipeline step-by-step using *Azure AI Search* as the vector database and *Azure OpenAI* Service with *Azure AI Foundry* for embeddings and generation.
I walked through the notebook commands live and also shared documentation and a runnable notebook so attendees can provision their own resources and recreate the pipeline.
Huge thanks to the @GlobAICommunity, @hboelman, Ehsan Eskandari, Alixia Blanc, Luca Gobbi and all the volunteers for organizing an amazing event and bringing together builders exploring the future of AI agents and developer tooling. A big thank you as well to the sponsors who helped make the event possible: @Microsoft and @CircleCI. And finally, a huge thank you to everyone who attended the session, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged in the discussions.
If you missed my session but want to try the implementation yourself, here is the published walkthrough and code:
