I turn 30 in six months, and lately I’ve been feeling “behind” as a software founder. When I see 21-year-olds raising millions of dollars for their startups, I feel 2 things: 1. Jealousy, wishing I had started earlier. 2. Inspiration, because they’re legitimately impressive. Logically, I know they’re the 0.01% outliers. Emotionally though, it stings. At 21, I was clueless. These kids are building real businesses before most people graduate. I catch myself thinking: “Shouldn’t I be further along by now?” That creates this weird shame cycle: Got my first customer: excited, then embarrassed. Hit 50 users: proud, then immediately comparing myself to someone younger doing 100x more. But here’s what I’m learning: Everyone starts at a different point. Your step 1 will never look like someone else’s step 10. I've worked as an investment banker. I’ve built a six-figure marketing agency (300M+ views generated for brands). Grown an audience of 800k+ followers on social media. But in this new space, I’m only 6 months in. So why am I comparing myself to people who started years earlier? The real mindset shift is this: Compare yourself to who you were 3 months ago, not to someone younger or louder than you. If you feel “late,” you’re not. You’re just early in a new chapter.

watched the @chang_defi/@vnovakovski debate I think Robert dropped the ball when it came to being prepared for this debate he absolutely needed a few more days to prepare arguments for this He’s a smart guy fwiw, but his targets in the debate all drove back to the root question of “well why didn’t X or Y work well on 10/10?”; which can be (and was) easily deflected by Vlad I think with more time spent in preparation that would’ve been a lot more interesting / less one-sided, but it seems clear chang is a much stronger writer than he is as a debater it’s good to see people try and take risks like this though, more of CT needs to have the conviction to have conversations in a live public forum like what happened today; win or lose.
