@shannonrwatts The vocal gun advocates claim guns are needed for self-defense. What I see them repeatedly used for is threat and intimidation. These people have perverted the 2nd amendment. A gun is now an extension of their personhood rather than a tool.

A Missouri man threatened a grocery store worker with his gun because the meat department was closed and he wanted steak. He claims the gun use was meant to communicate: “I need you to help me to get a couple of these steaks. I’m not going to hurt you.” ozarksfirst.com/crime/springfi…

@Theholisticpsyc @selfhealerscirc It brought up a lot of anxiety in me until I made myself not care. (Which took a long time.) It's just a way of devaluing another person. The return to communication as if nothing had ever happened was just plain weird. I don't understand how someone can do that.

The silent treatment is a form of emotional abuse. It's used to control a situation and to avoid healthy communication. Here's why:

Effective leaders don't feel the need to micromanage. They trust & respect their staff to do their job. They know their role is to sometimes mentor, but to always support and encourage those they lead. Effective leadership is getting the best out of those you lead.

@WalshFreedom @60Minutes How did she become a "prominent, powerful" member of Congress? What has she actually done? She's a loudmouth Trump lackey. There are people in Congress much more worthy of being interviewed.

Why the outrage from the left over @60Minutes interviewing Marjorie Taylor Greene? I’m no fan of MTG, but she’s an important, prominent, powerful member of Congress. Of course she’s worthy of being interviewed. I just hope it’s an honest, critical interview.

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, nicknamed MTG, isn’t afraid to share her opinions, no matter how intense and in-your-face they are. She sits down with Lesley Stahl this Sunday on 60 Minutes. 60Minutes.com

Respectfully, she’s a Member of Congress. A highly influential one. You & I may not like that, but that’s a fact. What she says & does matters. The media must cover her.

@60Minutes Please don't amplify her. She was elected to serve her constituents. Is she doing that? She should be working with other congresspeople to be improving our country. Is she doing that? No. She is known for her rants and spreading misinformation. Don't give her a platform. Please.

@unsafeturtle I haven't been to church in quite a while, but I seem to remember Jesus hanging out with the marginalized people of his day. I also remember him saying the greatest commandment is to love God and love each other. I'm sorry for your personal trauma. You're doing the right thing.

What a small price to pay to stand with the marginalized. To stand with my friends. To stand with my family. To stand with Jesus. While I may never work in student ministry again, I can still work in the kingdom. Jesus loves you dearly.

Tonight, I am sad. Over the last five weeks I have been fired from my youth pastor job, told by my mother that I am going straight to hell, and been turned down 15 minutes into two different interviews with Christian organizations.

"Lay Down!" Sometimes, that's all you can do when the aurora explodes right overhead. In this clip, I tell my friends to lay down and stop taking photos - this is a moment worth watching and enjoying without the worry of capturing it. I'm laying in the snow just watching the skies open up above me, the camera resting on my hip while I take it all in.

So, let’s talk about this, and why it’s an idiotic idea. I know guns. I’ve done a lot of shooting. I shoot very well, in both low AND high stress situations. Do you know how many thousands of rounds it takes to get to that point? A LOT. Security guards would get security guard pay. Security guards getting security guard pay, are not going to be people who have the shooting skills required to take out a killer wielding a high capacity rifle. When your adrenaline kicks in, your fingers feel like a fat salami. Your heart is pounding so loud you hear it in your ears. Your field of vision narrows so much that someone could approach you from the periphery…and you’d never see them coming. Your body does everything it possibly can, to prepare to survive…and almost ALL of it….erodes every aspect of your ability to shoot accurately. That’s what happens to people who haven’t trained in high stress conditions and fired thousands of rounds in training. Did you know that police officers miss 85% of the shots they take at 15-21 feet? (Because even police officers often lack the kind of training they need to shoot well under stress.) All an armed security guard at schools is likely to accomplish, is a false sense of security, and being the person the shooter plans to shoot and kill first, adding yet another person to the body count. And that, my friends….is why Rick Grenell…is talking out of his ass….AGAIN.

@WxZachary I know you're probably querying the tornado alley peeps, but checking in from Oregon. Tornadoes are very rare & small when they happen. We have an emergency alert system, but I don't know how effective it would be for this, and I think it's voluntary.
