@kiaran_ritchie I think you hit the nail on the head for why games like this don't really exist... it works fine in this context but an actual game everything would have to be billboarded and I don't think it would play nearly as well

Took a stab at the "first person pixel art fantasy game" concept thing. I really love this idea. Would be an enormous challenge to make it work in a real game engine. But fun to imagine!

@c2kelly I think the most useful thing is to just jump in and do it, find a way to use it that makes sense for you and that you enjoy. Can't think of anything more concrete, unfortunately...

A lot of people assume I’ve been programming in C forever. Truth is, up until around 5 years ago, I was all in on C++ (which is still my day job) but was drawn towards the less feature-dense aspects of C, so started playing around with it for my hobby projects.
