Interesting to note that when my sister and dad did get on their flight this aft (after help from an actual human) there were EMPTY seats on the flight. EMPTY SEATS @westjet
Shoutout to #westjet agent in #ylw who helped my sister & father get on a actual plane this aft. After their flight was cancelled without ANY email notification, on hold for 6+ hours with NO response, announcements in airport to go home & not ask questions at counter.
@WestJet Your manager, Sandy the #YEG needs to do better. She is extremely rude and not helpful at all. She refuses to listen, talks over you, and won’t do anything to try to help. #westjet#westjetcanada
@GroovieGurlie Hello, please send us a direct message with the six-letter reservation code, full name on reservation as well as the email address so, we are better able to assist you. twitter.com/messages/compo…
@WestJet I noticed some of your flights to #yeg from #yvr are getting canceled. However, my flight later today is still showing as "on time". What's going on?
I’m at the #YEG airport, where I have a flight with #WestJet to Montreal w/ a connection in Calgary. I was denied my boarding to the flight to Calgary even though the weather is in good condition in western Canada. Everyone refuses to provide help, including the manager. @WestJet
Wait times for WestJet? Hot tip for anyone waiting on hold for @WestJet right now. At about 3.5-4 hour mark there is a prompt to respond to indicate that you are still there. If you don't press "1" you will be disconnected. After waiting. Four hours.
Wow, just wow. Shame on you @wsj for publishing this.

It is time for a moral, even spiritual, turning, questioning of our meritocratic hubris. Do I deserve the talents that enable me to flourish? Or is that good luck? Insisting that success is my due makes it hard to see myself in other people's shoes.

We should begin by rethinking role of universities as arbiters of opportunity...It is folly to create an economy (& education system!!) that makes university a necessary condition of dignified work & a decent life.

Meritocracy is corrosive of the common good. It leads to hubris among the winners & humiliation among those who lose out. It encourages the successful to inhale too deeply of their success, to forget the luck and good fortune that helped them on their way.
