@CometShock the problem is defi failures are pretty binary. it either happens big or not at all. in practice, it’s rare that juniors get hit and seniors don’t.

I'm so ridiculously bullish on tranched lending vaults Juniors get levered exposure to yield, without servicing a carry trade Seniors want some yield, but afraid of one of the underlying exposures incurring bad debt. maybe they get some coverage for a 75bps haircut

If the tokenization thesis is correct and trillions of dollars of new assets move onchain in the coming years, which company will benefit the most?

Another little Liveline update: multi-series support. You can now have multiple overlapping lines in one chart with per-series toggles. Same smooth loading transitions, time windows, etc. ~npm i liveline

My sister drove the same car for the past decade while she attended med school. To celebrate her finishing residency and turning 30, I bought her a Tesla earlier this year. Every week, she now texts me about some new feature she discovers that blows her mind.

My views on the fees and valuations: 1. The vast majority of crypto tokens will be labeled commodities (per Paul Atkins ). Thus, simply saying "my digital bean is a commodity" doesn't tell us why one digital bean is worth more than another digital bean. 2. Some of these digital bean "commodity" tokens will have claims to cash flows, despite their labeling. 3. When people type "my protocol isn't a company", what they are really saying is "Don't expect my favorite token to have value accrual." Just replace and insert that every time you see someone type "X isn't a company." 4. It's completely arbitrary to claim that two tokens are SOV special magic beans that don't need token value accrual, but everything else does. Granted, it's also arbitrary to say only one does (BTC), but BTC pulled it off. (I have indirect BTC exposure as a LP in a fund) BTC caught lightning in a bottle by choosing to do *nothing* (after failing to become peer to peer electronic cash), and thus competes on pure story-telling. Furthermore, BTC has the best story that a protocol can ever have by being the first, anonymous founder, fair launch, religious cult, etc. The problem for other tokens is that A) They can't beat BTC's story, while also B) Trying to do *something*. The moment a protocol does *something* it will be evaluated against other all protocols that *also* do *something*, and those *somethings* will be compared to one another to see who is doing *something* better. For example, If you say that your token is exposure to tokenization and stablecoins, then people will want to logically ask: "OK. How does your token capture value from those things happening with your protocol?" BTC, on the other hand, doesn't make claims to those trends, and thus has no dependency on anything coming to fruition, other than continued storytelling. As soon as you have a product roadmap, technological improvements, activity, users, revenues, and everything else that comes with it, you will be evaluated as a function of those and less on storytelling. Just notice how many people simultaneously argue that ETH shouldn't be valued off fees, yet, excitedly start tweeting about how much fees will go up from the changes to the blob fee market. Why are they even talking about fees if they're immaterial? Why is Ethereum even increasing the fees that L2s pay if it shouldn't care about fees? In fact, if fees shouldn't influence ETH's value, increasing fees is *only* pure downside risk because it increases the chance for a L2 to seek alt DA. 5. If BTC and ETH are commodity SOVs, why shouldn't XRP equally be treated a commodity SOV value? It generates $150 a day in fees and has a $200B marketcap. It is actually walking the walk of saying fees don't matter. In fact, given that XRPL isn't even trying to increase fees, it's actually more credibly making the argument that fees don't matter to valuations than Ethereum because Ethereum actually just increased its blob fees. If we then concede that BTC, ETH, and XRP get to be commodity SOVs, then why shouldn't SOL be a commodity SOV value, too? Why shouldn't BNB? Why shouldn't shouldn't LINK, be valued based off having a finite supply and valued off its TVS, like asking a chain to be valued off its TVL and "onchain economy?" Chainlink has its own validators, its own network, its own consensus algorithm (which does way more than chain consensus, btw), it secures value (in fact oracles and bridges are much more at risk for hacks than chains themselves, so the stakes are even higher). What property does a L1 token have that exempts it from needing token value accrual, while everything else has the responsibility to generate revenue, to even be worth a fraction of a chain? Why even build apps if that valuation farmework will indefinitely persist? 6. In closing, I don't know how this will all play out over what period of time. But, in the long-run, it seems very unlikely to me that the market will prefer tokens with no value accrual over tokens with value accrual. If *all tokens* had no value accrual, it would be much easier to get everyone to accept the idea to not *expect* token value accrual. We could all just slurp down Mother Goose story time memes and value things off DeFi TVL, asset issuance, user accounts, etc. It would be very easy to make the argument for why $ETH is worth more than $XRP. But, if some tokens have value accrual, and some don't, it feels like it's only a matter of time before people start liking the ones with value accrual more. The genie is out of the bottle.

Action -> Pop up -> Confirm A pattern every onchain user is familiar with until @friendtech made embedded wallets popular. Then it became: Generate Account -> Top up from another wallet -> Action, Action, Action -> Top up again with the unfortunate byproduct of having 10s of embedded wallet accounts on various different platforms. Ghost Wallets are the next leap. All the benefits of an embedded wallet (like no pop ups) but none of the frictions of having them (like separate addresses). We mix @privy_io embeds with Cosmos SDKs Fee Grant + AuthZ to unlock spooky smooth UX.
Initia 🪢@initia

Onchain interaction just got a little spooky and a whole lot better with Ghost Wallets 👻 → Autosign transactions → Time-limited & instantly revocable → Protected by @privy_io <3 Oh, and @civitiaorg is dropping 250k $INIT to players who enable ghost wallets later today!
