So proud of this beautiful new work from Dan Dou, and so grateful to Virginia Lee for inspiring this study!
Journal of Cell Biology@JCellBiol
Dou, Aiken & @ErikaHolzbaur @PennMedicine show that #Parkinsons disease-associated hyperactive LRRK2 decreases the trafficking of synaptic vesicle proteins within neurons by disrupting the regulation of the synaptic vesicle precursor protein RAB3A. hubs.la/Q02qgtts0

What regulates the transport of autophagosomes along the axon? @sydneycason & @ErikaHolzbaur show that mature axonal autophagosomes are transported by the #microtubule motor #dynein, activated by JIP3/4, & regulated by ARF6 & RAB10 bit.ly/3MrP5Nw

Very happy to share our latest work on LRRK2 (and my first paper as co-last author). We find that LRRK2 mutations disrupt a regulatory balance between LRRK2, PPM1H, and ARF6, causing impairment of axonal autophagosome transport. @DanDou52257793 @ErikaHolzbaur @yourUMG
