Media (journalists or broadcast) will want the most story/entertainment.
Fans will want best performance from their drivers/teams. As a fan, I want more practice so HMS can get better, but I admit the race will be less exciting

@Lekawa338 My job is to be neither negative or positive but objective and share an opinion - I don’t see how adding 25 minutes of practice will have any tangible impact on improving the most important element of the weekend, the race

I can’t remember Bob Jenkins, Benny Parsons or Ned Jarrett ever saying something like this. Why not try to put a positive spin on something? This is disappointing coming from a member of nascar media. Help grow the sport that helps you earn a paycheck….

@DanielleTrotta Overall agree with you, but last night's race was not good imo. A short track race should never finish with 6 cars on the lead lap in this day and age. Unless they're all wrecked out of the race

CENTCOM Statement on Recently Fallen, Missing U.S. Service Members TAMPA, Fla. — On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, one service member is currently missing. Four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals. They have since been discharged. Other personnel who were evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty. Out of respect for the families, CENTCOM will withhold additional information, including the identities of the fallen warriors, until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified.

On NASCAR's "Hauler Talk" podcast, Mike Forde says it doesn't matter that Bubba Wallace didn't actually complete a pass while below the double yellow lines; it's the attempt to improve his position that was the foul.
Forde: "If he did go below the yellow lines and eventually improved (his position) and he did that to improve it and he wouldn't have gotten to where he did without going below the yellow lines, that's really what matters here in this case. He doesn't actually have to make the pass while under the double painted line."
Also says the SMT data didn't matter about Wallace attempting to give the spot back after going below the double yellow line because there are no give-backs with this rule.

Not sure I blame the format though. I found it interesting that guys, including Shwarber were stepping out of their stance between pitches more than with the clock. Maybe that disrupted rhythm.
Still prefer the 10 outs system!

Looking at the video, 23 is in 3rd, drops below, comes up, is still 3rd place at this moment in time (which is after he went out of bounds). To me that's proof he did NOT advance position while out of bounds

@DGodfatherMoody @dabfordale This is after he went below the lines. IF I were a race official, which I'm clearly not, I would see that at this moment in time he is still in 3rd place behind the 77. Therefore, he did not violate the rule.
Regardless, NASCAR clearly views it differently

@DGodfatherMoody @dabfordale My understanding of the rule, which could be incorrect or incomplete, is that "advancing position" requires actually improving from third place to second place while below the lines.

Has the rule changed? I could’ve sworn the rule used to be that for the penalty to be called you had to improve your position while under the yellow line.

@DGodfatherMoody @dabfordale What I see is that he briefly got his left sides beneath the double lines, then came back up completely onto the racing surface BEFORE gaining position. Therefore, my interpretation of the rule would be that he did NOT advance his position by going below the line

But despite its large 6,300+ acre footprint, it doesn’t provide enough power for one large data center complex in Loudoun County.
