🤦🏽‍♀️ Gotta give an interview today to discuss why I think Curious Refuge is promoting Tom Paton's "Where the Robots Grow" as the first AI animated feature film instead of Hooroo Jackson's preceding film, "DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict." (ICYMI: Jackson also holds the record for first AI feature film with "Window Seat," [2023].) Since they've made it known that they're aware of Jackson's achievements, but prefer to promote Paton's film, I have to try to explain why they want us to ignore what our eyeballs see, (which is a date-stamped film on Amazon Prime Video), what Forbes says, what five film festivals say, what interviewers and reviewers post DreadClub's release say, and what all the anti-AI people who spewed so much hate at Jackson that he got PTSD say... (And, btw, a lot of pro-AI people aren't helping, either 😕.) Boy, I sure do hope they still promote my upcoming Bruce Lee film on their site along with some of my other films 😬😅🥰...

{ motion design } Just got back from a 3 day business development trip for the studio and my oh my, how the industry is CHANGING 😳 After a mix of meeting new clients, hanging with old friends, and comparing notes with other studios, it’s clear that we are quickly exiting the “knowing AE+C4D is enough to be healthy and comfortable” stage… Broadcast has been shaken to its core and it’s not even close to settled. Agencies are consolidating and leveraging in-house talent with their clients. Data is equally as important as design. Trust is the new currency, even more so than creative, with every single project being scrutinized to the penny, each campaign needing to demonstrate how it’s moving the needle, and a boatload of new tools on both the studio and client side reshaping how we do our work and what it even entails. So much possibility out there for the bold and the brave, but one thing is for certain: the future is not going to look like the past, perhaps more so than any other moment of change for the motion design industry.
