We surveyed Wynn up to Strat today. All the sportsbooks were packed for March Madness, some standing room only, except Circus Circus. They put a pop-up in the old sportsbook space. Four people were there.

Hours after the release of NYT report: San Francisco is moving to change the name of Cesar Chavez Street. Arizona is canceling state observances of Cesar Chavez Day. The United Farm Workers of America, which Chavez co-founded, called off its Chavez birthday celebration.

California also has a revenue problem in that it is so dependent on highly volatile PIT and cap gains revenues that it can’t really predictably fund services. Everyone who points out the deficit every other year when there aren’t IPOs almost never provides this context.

on this topic, there’s a weird subdivision nearby that’s unincorporated LA County (ie: not city of LA not Culver City) named after PE rail stop “Alsace” nearby - this area never ended up getting annexed and today residents call sheriff/county fire despite LA city surrounding it!
