@luxemiaa when i worked in a hotel we were not allowed to say room numbers out loud at all or to ask guests for room numbers in the lobby. whenever a hotel doesn’t follow these protocols i get immediately uncomfortable because not only is it unsafe i know they were trained not to do that

Checked into a hotel solo last night, the front desk woman: 1. Gave me two keys without asking how many I’d need 2. Told me I’d be on the second floor, after writing my room number in the card & closing it 3. Never said my room number verbally out loud It may seem silly to some, but little things like this that help me feel safer when traveling by myself and I appreciate the heck out of.
