Madison: "Because the proposed establishment is a departure from that generous policy, which, offering an Asylum to the persecuted and oppressed of every Nation and Religion, promised a lustre to our country, and an accession to the number of its citizens."

From my own life experience as a hostage in Iran for 444 days, I know how fragile safety can be--and how precious our rights are, especially now that we are plunged into war with Iran.
I am outraged that a woman, one who I know, who has
lived her entire life in the United States--adopted as a toddler by an American military family in Iran---now faces deportation to Iran, of all countries, because of a bureaucratic visa technicality.
She has no criminal record, has lived in in California communities, paid taxes, more than contributed to the fabric of this nation, and calls this country her home. Yet, the Department of Homeland Security says she must removed because she technically "overstayed" a visa from the age of 4.
"She has fought for nearly two decades to fix her status within the system--always above board, asking for no shortcuts--but she fears her next court hearing later this month" may "almost certainly result in detention and deportation."
She has said," I'm struggling and fighting so hard to keep this life in America that I love and deserve...It's such a betrayal to my dad and to myself to send me back to a country where I was just an orphan baby."
This is beyond unjust--it is cruel. She does not even remember Iran, a country she left as a child, and where as a Christian she could be persecuted, imprisoned, or worse under Iranian law that treats apostasy as crime punishable by severe penalties and even death.
How can we call oursleves a nation of justice and compassion when we tear apart someone who is, in very sense an American?
This isn't immigation enforcement--it is punishment of an innocent woman who belongs here. If we allow this to happen, we are not enforcing the law--we are abandoning our humanity.
Where is the outrage? Where is the national coverage?
If we allow this to happen, we are abandoning the very values we claim to stand for.

Tomi Lahren and Mike Lee have arrived at the same take: if you worry the SAVE Act will knock eligible voters off the rolls, you are the real racist or misogynist for thinking minorities and women cannot manage paperwork.
Cute line. It just evaporates when you look at what these laws actually do. In Kansas, a similar proof rule blocked tens of thousands of citizens before courts stepped in, hitting students, married women and foster youth hardest. Not because they are incapable, but because life is messy and records are lost in floods, closed DMVs, name changes and moves.
Noncitizen voting is vanishingly rare. What is not rare is a grandma born at home with no birth certificate, or a young worker whose documents sit in a county office two buses away.
If you wanted fairness, you would fund mobile ID units, waive fees, and fix the gaps first. Instead, SAVE tells whole communities: find perfect documents or forfeit your voice. That is not integrity. It is an obstacle course built for the people you already wish would stay home.

🔥@TomiLahren: “I can’t think of anything more racist and misogynistic than saying that people of color cannot get an ID and proof of citizenship and women cannot get an ID and proof of citizenship”🔥 Amplify if you agree Then tell your senators to pass the SAVE America Act!

Abortion declined by roughly 300,000 annually during President Obama’s time in office — falling to levels lower than those recorded before Roe v. Wade.
It rose during President Trump’s first term.
It declined again under President Biden.
And it is now increasing once more during President Trump’s second term.

@amazon we must pay you to see recordings, but you record it all anyway? Thanks for letting us know to look for another doorbell.

America cannot fail.
Cultural critic @OsGuinness explains how he is not in favor of ‘American Exceptionalism,’ but advocates that America is the closest modern system to Scriptures itself, and how its systems hold massive implications for other nations. "It's not so much that I think empathy is wrongly defined. It is the fact that I don't think empathy is a thing. I don't think it's real. It is a substitute for a real Christian morality." From today's edition of The Briefing. You can listen here: ow.ly/vQP950Y8roX

I long for a day when the United States has a president who, just for starters, not to even get into more serious matters, is not older than Methuselah and does not sound like a 13 year-old on TikTok talking about middle school classmates. I don’t think this is too much to ask. And do not say to me, I guess you wish we had so-and-so and think what they’d do. We don’t have so-and-so. We have this one. And I don’t think it makes me woke to wish he acted like a grown-up.
