I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be giving the keynote at a symposium on #deindustrialization hosted by @UniofNewcastle next month. A huge thanks to @DrMcNamara and @caraleavey for inviting me—it’s always rewarding to discuss a topic that’s close to my heart. Deindustrialization may feel like an old story, but its effects are anything but outdated. The collapse of industrial communities continues to shape so many of the political and social challenges we face today, from #health #inequalities to the rise of #populism. It’s an issue that refuses to fade into the past, no matter how much we’d like to believe otherwise. This symposium brings together researchers who are digging deep into these questions, connecting the dots between history and the present.
