State of Meteora: April 2026 Two months of cooling, but April finally split the trend. Volumes eased, but fees and revenues moved the other way.

Reminder! The MetaMask x PudgyPenguins SBT mint fee is now as low as ($1) worth of ETH. PENGU x MASK 🐧🦊 Only 20k+ SBTs have been minted so far, which seems much slower compared to the Jupiter one. You still have enough time to mint, as the mint will remain live for more than 20 days. - Open to all MetaMask users.
- Mint must be done directly through the wallet.

Drift
Drift@DriftProtocol·
Earlier today, a malicious actor gained unauthorized access to Drift Protocol through a novel attack involving durable nonces, resulting in a rapid takeover of Drift’s Security Council administrative powers. This was a highly sophisticated operation that appears to have involved multi-week preparation and staged execution, including the use of durable nonce accounts to pre-sign transactions that delayed execution.

Hong Kong: On March 23, 2026, the Hong Kong government changed the implementing rules relating to the National Security Law. It is now a criminal offense to refuse to give the Hong Kong police the passwords or decryption assistance to access all personal electronic devices including cellphones and laptops. This legal change applies to everyone, including U.S. citizens, in Hong Kong, arriving or just transiting Hong Kong International Airport. In addition, the Hong Kong government also has more authority to take and keep any personal devices, as evidence, that they claim are linked to national security offenses. I see the same pattern in optimizing Solana that we saw in Eth. Insane amount of engineering working around an outdated requirement. Eth: Anyone should be able to run a validator! Solana: A validator should be able to run from anywhere on earth! Meanwhile Hyperliquid...

Many people are confused by these numbers and that’s normal because of the tooling used, but let’s settle some basics: Let’s start with this. There is simply no way a Turbine-based shredstream can beat a multicast-based shredstream, and this is mainly because of two main reasons. 1.- Who performs the traffic replication: Multicast is not quicker than unicast at the transport level, don’t get confused by that. However, the key difference is who performs the replication of that point-to-multipoint data traffic that shred distribution follows. Today, this is done on the validator side by the OS network stack (CPU-based), which is slower than performing it at the ASIC level of the network switches in a multicast network. 2.- How Turbine fanout works: It is well known that Turbine uses a stake-based tiering system where shreds go first to the 200 most staked nodes, and then those nodes forward them to the rest, creating a few hops that can become a global ping-pong. If traffic replication is done at the network device layer, you don’t really need those tierings; the multicast network will spread this information at once. Some related factors: 1.- Transport efficiencies. Here you can benchmark the efficiencies of the public internet vs. private networks, or even vs. overlays over the public internet. In general, a well-meshed private network is more reliable due to reducing the amount of hops and events that occur on the public internet. Also, people forget that many hosting providers have private networks to connect their locations and remember for example that TeraSwitch runs 33% of the stake and they use their own global fabric to interconnect their locations. So if the nodes are colocated in these locations, you are not really comparing DoubleZero vs. the public internet, but also DoubleZero private network vs. TeraSwitch private network. Result in this specific situation? Very little difference. This is not applicable, of course, for all locations, which is why when you compare one option vs. the other, you really need to understand what you are comparing. 2.- Alpenglow: Solana will receive a major upgrade soon, and Rotor, the core protocol component in charge of shred distribution, will completely change how Turbine operates. In Rotor, the validators will delegate shred distribution to a set of relayers deployed by Anza. This should reduce the time required by validators to replicate the unicast traffic, and it should also make propagation quicker because the network will no longer be layered in stake tiers, so it will be more similar to multicast traffic flow than today with Turbine, but still over the internet. As a summary, the difference between Turbine based shredstreams vs Multicast based shreadstrams will be almost unfair to compare for the reasons shared above. Remember than today only 20% stake has been onboarded and we can perceive already big differences.

Today we publish Meteora's Annual Token Holder Report and Investor Relations page for FY2025. 2025 was a defining year for the protocol — beginning with breakthrough momentum from the TRUMP launch, through a period of significant product development that introduced DAMM v2, Dynamic Bonding Curves, and the Anti-Sniper Suite, and culminating in the $MET Token Generation Event in October. With this report, we aim to build a holder base that understands how this business works. We are introducing float-adjusted per-token metrics — a framework we believe more accurately reflects the economics of the $MET token relative to Meteora's underlying business. We introduce a float-adjusted per-token metric, one that we believe accurately reflects the state of the $MET token vis-a-vis Meteora’s business. Highlights: - Cashflows: $72.5M (Inflows), $40.5M (Outflows) - Treasury Position: $35.9M (SOL/USDC/USDT) - $MET Bought Back: 24,317,822 (2.4% of Supply) - Float: 31% of Total Supply (Actual Tradeable Tokens) - Cashflows per Float Token: $0.2342 - NAV per Float Token: $0.1159 The full report is available now on ir.meteora.ag — a dedicated Investor Relations page we are launching alongside this. Going forward, this is where all token holder communications, quarterly updates, and current data on fees, revenues, and treasury will live. Have a look and let us know what's missing. For those with questions after reading, we will be conducting our first Token Holder Call next Thursday, March 15th. Details to follow.

New $JUP Utility 🚨 1. Borrow against staked $JUP: Imagine being able to automatically borrow against your staked $JUP on @jup_lend without needing to unstake, while still remaining eligible for ASR. That would be an absolute game changer. 2. ASR Claim: 2 options to claim your $JUP rewards in either $JupUSD or $JUP tokens. You pick one; no partial selection from both. 3. Presale access to DTF launches on @JupiterExchange : Keep this perk, but set a minimum amount of $JUP staked to qualify, while increasing the allocation you get access to. Presale launches have always been profitable for $JUP stakers (e.g $WET). These are just ideas from my perspective. What would you like to add or remove?

The Iran war is the biggest Bitcoin supply event since China's mining ban. Iran mines BTC for $1,320. America mines it for $50,000+. 10 million Iranians moved their savings into crypto because the rial is worthless. If this regime falls: - Billions in BTC get dumped or lost forever - 5% of global hashrate disappears overnight - 427,000 rigs go dark Get ready for the supply shock.

I believe $JUP stakers would be very excited if something like this happens. We already have $JUP as collateral on JupLend. But imagine being able to use staked $JUP as collateral, borrowing stables on JupLend while still earning ASR rewards. That would be a yuge win for stakers and could build massive trust around the token. This could 10x staker confidence. Just sharing an idea, no promises, just a thought.

Since I took over @MeteoraAG last March, we have taken insider trading risk seriously and put real safeguards in place. Meteora is a permissionless platform. And especially over the last 12 months, we’ve invested tremendous energy into making it robust and reliable enough to ensure projects can launch without any support from us personally. As a result, we often find out about launches or integrations only after they happen. As just two examples, both $NYC and $YZY, two of the biggest launches on Meteora in the past year, happened without our prior knowledge. Our energy is fully focused on building the best technology possible to power launchpads and other platforms. Our focus is not to get involved with deployers themselves. We are laser focused on what we’re uniquely best at, and that’s building great infrastructure, products, and community around LPing. Yes, we’ve seen the Polymarket. To be honest, we were as surprised as you were. So we immediately did a detailed review of the situation. After review, we remain confident in the way we handle integrations, launches, and the standards we hold ourselves to as a team. It’s been almost exactly one year since me and @0xSoju took over Meteora. When we stepped in, things were rocky. But we knew we had inherited an amazing tech platform and an even more amazing community. Every day since then, we’ve put every ounce of energy into doing things the right way for the sake of our users and the greater DeFi ecosystem. I am deeply proud of our team and what we’ve been able to accomplish so far. And I promise you this: we’re going to keep doing the same goddamn thing every day going forward too.
