@ImLanman @UberEats I’ve had similarly unfortunate outcomes with ordering from them. I use @DoorDash mostly for this reason.

Why you should NEVER order from @UberEats : 1) @UberEats business model does not value end customers, only vender satisfaction  2) Short term profits are prioritized over long term relationships at @UberEats  3) @UberEats service is impressively horrendous and not customer centric 4) The @UberEats service is run by BOTs and AI (sans the intelligence portion).  The drivers themselves complain about how bad @UberEats and @uber are, and ironically, they too work for nothing more than a handful of bots themselves. 5) @UberEats has no support whatsoever for issue resolution.  When (not if)  your order is wrong, you’re screwed.  Their chat both service is elementary, at best, and there is no way around using it.  There is no escalation path or support number and NO WAY TO ACTUALLY INTERACT WITH A HUMAN! ————————————— Although, we have experienced several issues with @UberEats in the past, I will share our last and final episode. We ordered >$50 worth of food.  The driver was slow, as is often the case, and 5 minutes after delivery notification, I went down to get our order and the driver was STILL standing there at our front door, befuddled, staring at the delivery bags on the ground, looking at his phone, then at me, back to the bags… and back to me.  He then asked me (a 58 yr old male) if I was “Melissa.” I told him “no, no I am not Melissa” and then he pointed out that all three bags said “Melissa P,” as if I were going to admit to being Melissa. I picked the various bags, and sure enough they did say “Melissa” on them.  The bags contained all drinks, but we had ordered food. He realized that HE had switched orders, grabbed the bags FROM MY PORCH, left and said he would return with our order.  THAT WAS 12 HOURS AGO!   Starting immediately, and for the next three hours my wife and I both tried to get resolution from @Uber’s ridiculous and poorly programmed bots, stuck in a never ending loop.  The bot wanted a picture of the missing food order.  Think about that for just one second…. I’ll repeat, the bot wanted a picture of the missing food order!  Obviously, there is no picture because the order NEVER arrived!  The driver, “Bobby,” in the meantime marked the order as delivered on his app.  Because of that, the bot then said the order was delivered and closed the “support” case.  This went on three additional times. At some point, hours later and without notification, a portion of our money was credited.  Some, but not all, and “Bobby’s” tip was NOT refunded - a final FUCK YOU to us from @Uber.  Bless your heart @Uber_Support . Inversely, @DoorDash , which arguably is much more professional, organized and has real customer service, will typically refund any money and credit an extra $5 bucks for the inconvenience. To prove a point, and actually eat, we ordered from @DoorDash the moment ol’ Bobby walked away and the food ARRIVED even before the @UberEats bot had even responded with anything useful. One last tidbit: NEVER use gift cards.  If you use a credit card, at least your credit card card company can do a chargeback.  If you use @uber gift cards, you are completely at their mercy. Side note:  I sold 100% of my @uber stock after this final encounter.  It showed me everything I needed to know about their company, leadership, values and future.
