There’s a reason President Trump is respected by world leaders, and it’s because he’s consistently shown a level of strength that we haven’t seen from our Commander in Chief in modern history.

.@POTUS on his state visit to China: "We have a relationship, he and I, and we've been working together a long time. We've gotten along well. When I first came here, China was really taking advantage of the United States—he understands that—and now, we do great with China."

Even in quiet moments like this, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip shared one of their favourite pastimes: the countryside. Both had a deep love of the outdoors, especially in Scotland, where they would escape the formality of royal life at Balmoral. Prince Philip, in particular, preferred these informal settings—often swapping suits for jumpers and enjoying picnics, barbecues, and long walks, while the Queen valued these moments as a rare chance to truly relax away from duty. #TheQueen #PrincePhilip #royal

@JohnCleese does it not irk you that some of the lines you wrote in A Fish Called Wanda are routinely used by the current regime in Washington without acknowledgement or attributuon?

@casey_aydan @AlboMP Mhmm, and if we look at the motivations of the Ottomans (which is a bit of a modern paradigm to begin with, until recently individual associations were cultural rather than territorial) Then the notion of the current governments social policy is put on very unstable foundations.

For generations, the Greek Australian community has helped write the story of modern Australia. And our nation is better for it. As we mark Greek Independence Day this week, we remember their fight for freedom, our shared history and their contribution to our nation.

Robert Mueller served his country honorably for decades. In response to his death, Donald wrote: "Good. I'm glad he's dead." If you think that's acceptable or even remotely ok, you are part of the problem.

I’ve always believed that if you want to win, you put your best players on the field — and you don’t stop showing up when things get uncomfortable. I’m here to do the work, and I remain committed to the values I’ve stood for from day one. Politics needs conviction, not fear — and Australians deserve leaders who are willing to stand their ground.

@TroyBramston Fisher´s retirement being voluntary is debatable. He only retired after failing to get Billy Hughes to do so.

Several mistakes in this Tom Switzer column about prime ministers. Claims only one PM “retired on his (sic) own terms”. Edmund Barton (1903) + Andrew Fisher (1915) resigned voluntarily without losing an election, parliamentary or party support. #auspol theaustralian.com.au/commentary/kno…

@SkyNewsAust Should he need to? The role of the law is to be unbiased not biased. When you are insisting that the sole criteria of the appointment of the Commissioner be their sympathy to your cause, then you do neither yourself or your cause any favours.

If he does decide to return to frontline politics, he has credentialed himself as a leadership contender. Although there is a long way to go between now and then. He needs to copy Tim Wilson’s playbook and slay a teal by winning back Kooyong from Monique Ryan, but also show that the passion and purpose he brought to the royal commission battle can be translated into routine domestic politics. More immediately, though, Mr Frydenberg needs to avoid overreaching in his pursuit of the Prime Minister now that the royal commission has been called. Questioning Virginia Bell’s credentials and ethics will only expose him to the charge that he is playing politics after all. latika.me/49sA8p5

EXCLUSIVE Labor grandee Mark Bishop says a Royal Commission is the only way forward, and that Anthony Albanese is refusing one because of Muslim votes in key Cabinet Western Sydney seats. Asked why Labor MPs are silent, the former WA Senator said Labor MPs were scared of @AlboMP's vengeance and tendency to do a Dictator Dan (Andrews) and kill their careers.
