Valve has quietly uploaded a new unboxing video for the upcoming Steam Controller to Steam. The video is currently encrypted and cannot be played. This is a typical sign from Valve that a product launch is getting close. This matches the 2026 hardware lineup Valve announced last year, which includes the updated Steam Controller, the Steam Machine mini PC, and the Steam Frame wireless VR headset. All three products were originally planned for early 2026, but were delayed by shortages of memory and storage components. Recent shipping records show a large number of wireless controllers have arrived in the United States. This strongly suggests the controller is ready for release and may come out first, ahead of the Steam Machine and Steam Frame.
