I've seen birth tourism up close. It's a total abuse of the system. Think about it -- someone like me, who was not born in the U.S. but has lived here since I was a 6 years old, will never be able to run for President. But a child born here through birth tourism, then taken back and raised in their parents' country, never growing up with American values, somehow can. American citizenship is not an "insurance policy."

With 8 billion people one plane ride away from securing U.S. citizenship for their child through birth tourism, does anyone seriously believe the 1868 framers intended this outcome?

The idea that one administration can unilaterally give hundreds of thousands of people temporary legal status but another administration is not allowed to end that status is absurd on its face. These judges need to stop inventing rules based on their policy preferences.

If bringing the Senate back into session is the only way to get the full DHS budget approved and the SAVE Act passed, this is exactly what we should do.

Senate leadership: “Sorry we can’t do the SAVE America Act. So instead we’ll defund ICE and Border Patrol before taking a two week vacation! Vote for us in November!” Really compelling message.
