@TheDannyClassic Beautiful cause I also avoided this too. Being a home town fan. Just they aren’t ready yet. It’s a rollercoaster in the tdot these days.

@cbrelltweet Christian boy did you nail this one and saved me the play

@cbrelltweet The technology they are using for this data centre to cool the servers (closed loop cooling) has been around for the last 20+ years and has a track record of using significantly less water.
English

The government could build three new CRA offices, hire 1000 new workers and have them go to town on all the money that corporations hide from CRA and we’d get more economic development than these centres.

@Aranuir2 Can't tell, the only thing we have is history. Akums Razor suggests it will have a negative environmental impact.
What's more likely, a lobby-led, corporate passing grade in order to make profit. Or that it will likely eat more energy and resources than anticipated?
English

@cbrelltweet What is the long-term impact on the environment for this data centre?

The town literally did the meme

Pubity@pubity
A data center in Georgia used 30 million gallons of water illegally, and locals only noticed when their water pressure was abnormally low. The data center claimed it was an honest mistake, but locals were told by the town to conserve water while the data center kept running.

@Aranuir2 Long term sustainable jobs and economic growth through public work.
Or a corporate construction contract to benefit a few CEOs and a long-term impact on environment for no reason.
Hmmm.
English

@EstelSpaghetti @NoLore The substack article you are referencing is a poorly written opinion piece.
The reality is this project will provide jobs (construction, Canadian made material)
It will use 90% less water than traditional data centres
And is important for national security.
Do some research

@TheDannyClassic If Corbin gets Simpson out, NRFI should be fine. But that dude can get on first and the Jays have no tangible way of stopping him from walking his way to third before Corbin throws another pitch home.
English

@TheDannyClassic I honestly don't like it. No matter who's on the mound. The Jays just don't have it right now, and the Rays ALWAYS have their number whether it's at home or at The Trop.
It feels like it should be easy money, but then again yesterdays felt like it should have been free too.

@LKIncognito You keep singling out this specific.
I have no problem watching Pulp Fiction with my dad or Gone Girl with my mom. Bc their good, and they're art. I mean ffs, my mother recommended the book.
I'm privileged to go to movies with my parents all the time because we like art.
English

@cbrelltweet no i was aware i was sending my opinion out to a thread that agreed with NL and not me i just was unaware how many people operate in bizarre worlds where they feel superior for watching sex scenes with their parents without feeling weird. it’s not about understanding art man😭

@LKIncognito I mean.. You're the one who engaged in the thread thinking you had a winner..
English

@LKIncognito Here's your problem. You're watching those movies because of the sex scenes. That's why you feel awkward.
Because you've repressed sex so much, the only time you view it normally is on a little screen with your pants down jerking into a sock. And can't actually understand art.
English

@IsaakFlygare @rockmeannadeus well idk man like 'hey lets all watch this movie where theres a (or multiple) sex scenes" like idk why would you wanna watch that with your parents i feel like im losing my mind man idk how else to describe this to you but i am in the majority i promise you

@TheDannyClassic @Nick273942461 Someone looked this up last year I think I recall it being somewhere around 55% of games start with a NRFI. Considering the sample size across all games that might as well be a coin flip.
English

@Nick273942461 More ways to do it I guess. Wonder what the stats are on percent of first innings with runs
