This might be the worst take I’ve ever seen. If your government goes over budget the tax payers bail them out, if your average Joe goes over budget… he’s completely fucked with no help. I think your average joe off the street could budget better than the government.
Chris@cdenton71
@Billybobwalter1 @AlishaLoui95487 @A64291666A Not true. Your average Joe has zero idea how to manage a 6 billion dollar annual budget, how to work with departments, or how to navigate political procedure. It would be a train wreck.
English

@marklevinshow Or, Republicans could grow a pair and pass legislation, given they control every branch of government. The problem isn't Democrats. It's Republicans.
English

ADVICE TO SENATE REPUBLICANS
No compromise with the Democrats. They intentionally defunded and seek to shut down the TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, and Secret Service.
Republicans should turn to their biggest donors to raise the funds to run NONSTOP television, radio, and internet ads exposing the Democrats for what they're doing -- intentionally creating chaos, eliminating transportation security, eliminating protection on our coastlines, and so forth. This should be very easy to do. The Democrats are actively trying to confuse the public, with the help of their big media, claiming they want to fund these agencies but are blocked by the Republicans. ENOUGH of their lies and propaganda. TAKE THEM ON AND EXPOSE THEM! They must not get away with this kind of horrendous blackmail and war on the public.
English

@Riley_Gaines_ If she has guns, they need to be taken away. She's obviously delusional.
English

@DataRepublican @SenateGOP It's time to turn up the heat on Trump. He looks weak. Start telling him.
English

@SenateGOP You have a 53-47 majority. I'm not interested in blaming the Democrats.
English

@mitchellvii Nancy Pelosi managed to navigate the establishment. This is a Thune problem, or he's taking the fall because @POTUS wants it to fail.
English

What people don't seem to understand is that John Thune is not the problem in the Senate.
John Thune is the symptom of the problem in the Senate.
The problem in the Senate is that we have too many establishment senators that have been there for decades and they don't like Trump.
They're owned by the multinational corporations and don't want MAGA nationalism.
If we get rid of Thune we'll just get someone else just like him.
English

@bennyjohnson Why is @POTUS so weak on this. Thune looks like the alpha dog. He's either lost his edge, or he doesn't want the SAVE Act passed and wants Thune to take the heat. In either case, he's bleeding support daily.
English

@Billybobwalter1 @AlishaLoui95487 @A64291666A Not true. Your average Joe has zero idea how to manage a 6 billion dollar annual budget, how to work with departments, or how to navigate political procedure. It would be a train wreck.
English

@cdenton71 @AlishaLoui95487 @A64291666A No. You could take any normal person off the street and they would do a better job than 98% of current politicians.
English

@jimiuorio They already raise the age and contribution limit on that cohort. Definitely not fair to do it again.
English

@ChrisMartin1961 You created and left us with a pile of shit that was created on your watch. You offshored our jobs, ran up 39 trillion in debt and left Social Security insolvent. You're right, vwe need to solve it. Now, get out of the way.
English

@AlishaLoui95487 @A64291666A @Billybobwalter1 Not necessarily. They can come from business too; like LePage and Trump. A Governor is very much like a corporate CEO.
English

@A64291666A @Billybobwalter1 @cdenton71 But thats what you just said you want one with experience.. those are career politicians..
English

@Billybobwalter1 No, but I know that the candidate with the most money is most likely to win. He's not even in the game with $16k. That's just the reality of politics. You don't have to like it, but it's true.
English

So people are looking for career politicians??
Career politicians got us in this mess.. I’ll take the normal guy
LisaA@A64291666A
@Billybobwalter1 He is a nice guy but he has no experience at all. He really isn't electable just as @cdenton71 said.
English

@Billybobwalter1 I agree with you on that, but that's not what you initially said. The fact he has no money is a reflection of experience. He doesn't know how to raise money and money wins elections.
English

@cdenton71 You’re not even getting the point I’m trying to make. My point is thats it’s fucking stupid only the big money career politicians get the spotlight.
English

This is Thune saying "we gave the SAVE Act the ol' college try, but that pesky Parliamentarian prevented it." He sold us out.
Sahil Kapur@sahilkapur
WATCH: Thune says Republicans intend to respect the parliamentarian and NOT overrule her on which parts of the SAVE America Act are eligible for a simple-majority budget reconciliation bill.
English

@cat_barnes30 Apparently, @POTUS is weaker than @LeaderJohnThune. Not a good look for Trump. He's lost all but the hardcore MAGA at this point, after abandoning America First.
English

I just got home and did a quick read of this unfathomable situation, so feel free to correct me if I get anything wrong.
The deal being considered right now is absolutely abhorrent. Congress would reopen the DHS, but WITHOUT a penny of funding going to ICE. (UNACCEPTABLE)
Then, they're talking about passing a watered-down version of the SAVE America Act under the "reconciliation" process, where the govt. would provide (now get this) "financial incentives to states" to implement voter ID requirements.... WITHOUT requiring registration to prove you are a citizen of the United States!
This is all theatrics and nothing more. At least they get their 14-day vacation this way.... rather than spending it on the Senate floor debating the issue with the democrats!
I'm done.
English

@Billybobwalter1 You'd attract a lot more competent people into politics, if it paid well, and you'd have less incentive to accept money from special interest. Not sure how that's relevant to this discussion. I stick by my assessment. Wessels won't be the candidate. We'll see who's right.
English

@cdenton71 Well bub… you’re also the guy who said he wanted to pay politicians more to end corruption. So I take what you say with a grain of salt
English

@toddstarnes You mean to tell me Trump can strong arm Venezuela, Iran, and Cuba, but the master of the deal can't handle Thune? I didn't think he was that weak. Trump must want this and Thune is taking the heat. I'm not turning up for a party that won't turn up for us. Trump made his bed.
English

Senate Republicans never had any intention of passing the Save America Act. And there will likely not be any other votes of consequence between now and the midterms.
Make no mistake, John Thune and his leadership team have betrayed the American people and their president. And they don't care - not one bit. They sabotaged the president's agenda - from day one. Their behavior may likely cost Republicans the House and the Senate. And they deserve to lose.
However, President Trump does not deserve to be impeached and that's exactly what would happen if the Democrats regained control. So, we can't let that happen -- for Donald Trump's sake.
Let's spare President Trump and the First Lady the agony of endless investigations and trumped up charges. Reelect the gutless guttersnipes.
We can deal with the jackassery of Thune and his cowardly band of traitors in 2028.
Our president deserved better. And so did America First voters. We got screwed by the Republicans.
